(9:50 a.m. EST) -- Carnival Cruise Line is starting the new year with a price hike on both its Cheers beverage package and Green Eggs and Ham breakfast.
On sailings of three and four days the Cheers beverage package will now cost $54.95 per day (plus gratuity), if purchased pre-cruise and $59.95 per day (plus gratuity) if purchased onboard -- an increase of $3 per day more.
Cruises who have already purchased a Cheers beverage package for a cruise in 2020 will not be charged more. Prices for Cheers beverage packages of cruises five days or longer are not changing.
Carnival is also charging more for its Seuss at Sea character-filled Green Eggs and Ham breakfast. The new price is $6, up $1 and applies to all sailings across the Carnival Cruise Line fleet.
"Even with the modest price increase, the Dr. Seuss breakfast is still an incredible value considering all the whimsical Dr. Seuss-themed food and character appearances," said Carnival Cruise Line spokesman Vance Gulliksen. "Other elements of the program, including the Seuss-a-palooza Parade and Story Time remain free of charge."
