Celebrity Xpedition ran aground on Tuesday evening in the Galapagos Islands, with the ship’s 46 passengers evacuated to a nearby vessel.

"All guests and crew are safe, and we have no reported injuries," Celebrity Cruises' parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd confirmed on Twitter.

Passengers and and some of the crew have been transferred to the line's other ship in the region, Celebrity Flora, and tomorrow will depart for Quito where Celebrity Cruises will coordinate hotels and flights home.

"We regret the inconvenience this has caused our guests and will be providing guests a 100 percent refund for this sailing and a full credit for a future Celebrity cruise vacation," an RCL spokesperson said.

According to the company's tweet, there has been no report of any environmental damage but further inspection will be carried out, along with an assessment of the ship's condition.

Celebrity Xpedition was in the middle of a seven-day Galapagos sailing that departed 2 November and was due to end 9 November. It has not yet been determined if the next sailing will be cancelled but booked passengers will be informed of any changes.
