(3:30 p.m. BST) -- UK-based The River Cruise Line has announced plans to refurbish and charter a river cruise ship for launch at the end of March next year, MS Arena.

MS Arena, (pictured above), which is currently sailing as "The Flamenco", will go into dry dock this winter and will be extensively refurbished with new cabins, a dining room, new lounge and new furniture and fittings throughout.

The 180-passenger ship will launch on March 30, 2020, and will be showcased in a two-day sailing from Amsterdam to Rotterdam before starting a season of five- and seven-night cruises on the Dutch waterways.

Managing director Steve Goodenough said: "We are very excited to launch the MS Arena for 2020. The addition of the new ship will enhance our programme significantly and we look forward to offering our partners the chance to experience it for themselves."

The River Cruise Line operates two ships -- the Lady Anne and ms Serenity -- the latter of which MS Arena will replace next year.

MS Arena will be classified as four star and have a mix of balcony cabins with "Juliet" balconies, as well as a number of single cabins. There will also be a lounge for pre- and post-dinner drinks, a restaurant and a wellness suite.

Unlike many river lines, apart from tea, coffee and Wi-Fi, the ship will not be all-inclusive. Passengers can opt to pay £20 per person per night to include drinks with meals and 10 percent off shore excursions.

The ship will start the season on the Dutch waterways, before moving to the Rhone and Moselle in May and June, the Rhine in July and the Danube for the rest of the season, including as far as the Black Sea. It will also offer a series of Christmas markets sailings on the Rhine.

The River Cruise Line has MS Arena for a four-year charter.
