(3:50 p.m. EDT) -- Seabourn Cruise Line has introduced a new private jet charter service for mid-voyage overland adventures and to transport passengers to and from ports of call. Known as Seabourn Private Air, the new service will be available for bookings beginning August 15.

Utilizing a group of global operators who adhere to U.S. Federal Aviation Administration standards, available aircraft include light jets capable of carrying between 5 and 8 passengers; midsize jets carrying 7 or 8 passengers and heavy private jets with a capacity of 9 to 16 passengers. Seabourn says pricing for the service will be additional to the cost of the cruise, and it will vary depending upon itinerary and aircraft.

"Time is an incredible luxury, and as an ultra-luxury travel operator for three decades, we are always seeking new ways to enhance our guest experience," said Chris Austin, Seabourn's senior vice president of Global Marketing and Sales.

Designed to mimic the inclusiveness of a Seabourn voyage, Seabourn Private Air will offer access to thousands of airports that serve private aviation, as well as to most major international airports. Flights will have Wi-Fi internet capability, and fares will include Seabourn's Private Valet luggage service, Seabourn-standard catering options (including food and beverage options like Regiis Ova caviar and Montaudon Champagne), Molton Brown toiletries, complimentary transfers and cabin attendants as required aboard certain aircraft types.

Seabourn's Private Air service will also include "next 'ort protection" of up to 1,000 miles from the original destination, ensuring passengers can always join the ship.

Unlike bookings on commercial airlines, private aviation passengers pay for the aircraft rather than an actual seat, enabling Seabourn to offer the same all-inclusive product in the air as on their ships at sea.
