(2:15 p.m. EDT) -- Virgin Voyages has released the fall/winter 2020-21 sailing schedule for its first ship, Scarlet Lady, set to debut in April 2020. Made up of four- and five-night sailings operating roundtrip from Miami, the new voyage options mean passengers can now book cruises through March 2021.
New dates include Virgin Voyages' Mayan Sol itinerary, a five-night voyage that calls on Costa Maya and also includes a stop at the Beach Club at Bimini -- Virgin's private beach experience in the Bahamas. Cruisers can also book the five-night Dominican Daze itinerary, calling on Puerto Plata and the Beach Club at Bimini, or the four-night Fire and Sunset Soiree that stops in Key West and Bimini.
On the soiree itineraries, Scarlet Lady will sail from Key West at sunset and depart Bimini at midnight after an exclusive late-night beach bonfire. The fire installations that will serve as the focal point were inspired by Virgin Voyages founder Sir Richard Branson's own fireball sculptures on Necker Island.
Pricing for these voyages starts from $1,300 USD (about 1,070 GBP, 1,908 AUD) for an inside cabin for the four-night Fire and Sunset voyages and $1,550 USD (about GBP, AUD) for an inside cabin on the five-night Mayan Sol and Dominican Daze itineraries, excluding taxes and fees. Virgin Voyages offers per-stateroom pricing (based on double-occupancy) by default, though its website also allows travellers to view per-person pricing.
The 2,750-passenger, adults-only Scarlet Lady makes its debut next year with uncommon features like the first tattoo parlor at sea, no main dining room, no buffet, inclusive gratuities and select beverages, and a focus on health and wellness that Virgin Voyages calls "Vitamin Sea."
