(3:09 p.m. EDT) –  Oceania's Riviera has emerged from dry dock with a new bar and lounge, and redesigned suites and staterooms, as part of the line's OceaniaNext fleetwide enhancement program.

“With the evolution of OceaniaNext, this was a great opportunity to not just enhance the guest experience aboard Riviera, but to elevate it through the addition of surprising new elements,” said Bob Binder, President and CEO of Oceania Cruises.

Riviera's sister ship Marina will receive a similar makeover in May 2020. The OceaniaNext initiative, revealed in August 2018, also comprises a $100 million refurbishment of the line's oldest and smallest, Regatta-class ships.

Below is a more thorough breakdown of Riviera's changes:

  • An all-new coffee bar area, featuring a high-level Victoria Arduino espresso machine, and Bar Istas lounge -- both designed in a silver-grey and sea green color palette with gold, ebony and white marble accents.

  • The Concierge and Veranda staterooms, as well as the Penthouse suites, were redone in tones of espresso, caramel and ivory.
  • Owner’s Suites are now furnished exclusively with the Ralph Lauren Home Collection, and the highlights include a self-playing ebony piano, floor-to-ceiling windows, a mahogany and quartzite bar and wraparound teak verandas.

In addition to the OceaniaNext enhancements, Riviera recently started featuring a special six-course Dom Perignon tasting menu, which Cruise Critic got to try out during its January 2019 launch (read our thoughts on the experience). The tasting menu is also available on Marina.

Oceania's Insignia was the first R-class ship to receive a complete OceaniaNext makeover. Learn more about what was added, as well as the schedule for the remaining R-class ships, in our report from its reveal.
