(5:10 p.m. EDT) -- OneSpaWorld has formed a seven-year partnership with Virgin Voyages and will oversee the line's spa and wellness offerings -- including fitness classes, spa treatments and salon services -- when its first three vessels launch in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
"We see wellbeing as a critical part of our sailor experience; we call it our 'Vitamin Sea,'" said Tom McAlpin, Virgin Voyages' President and CEO. "We know that OneSpaWorld is the perfect partner to deliver unforgettable experiences that our sailors will love."
Each Virgin Voyages ship's spa and wellness offerings will include a fitness center, an outdoor yoga studio, a traditional spa and a salon with blowout services. About 30 OneSpaWorld employees will oversee operations onboard.
Virgin Voyages' first ship, Scarlet Lady, will begin sailing four- and five-night cruises from Miami in April 2020. Bookings for the inaugural season began in March.
Bahamas-based OneSpaWorld currently manages spa and wellness programs on 164 cruise ships and at 64 destination resorts. Its cruise line clients include Silversea, Seabourn, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Disney and Norwegian.
