(1:03 p.m. EST) -- River cruise line Avalon Waterways has unveiled a new program that offers more ways to customize pre- and post-cruise packages.
Through Avalon YourWay, booked cruisers can choose from three different providers -- Avalon Waterways, or one of its sister companies, Monograms and Globus -- to craft a pre- or post-cruise extension that best suits their interests and budgets. All packages include accommodations for the desired number of nights, transportation from the ship to the hotel, and sightseeing tours.
Avalon YourWay packages are available to book now, for cruises beginning in 2020.
Below is a breakdown of the packages:
• Avalon Waterways' land extension: Avalon Waterways' standard offerings include overnight land stays at the beginning and/or end of your cruise, as well as guided sightseeing.
• Monograms' independent vacation package: This package comes with handpicked hotel accommodations, city sightseeing and on-site services from a local host.
• Globus' escorted touring vacation: Booked cruisers who choose this option can enjoy sightseeing, hotel accommodations, transportation, a coach driver, a tour director and certified local guides.
"With our new Avalon YourWay program, we're making it easier for travelers to extend their river cruise vacation with land itineraries that are perfectly suited to their preferences and budget," said Avalon Waterways' managing director, Pam Hoffee.
"No matter which 'YourWay' extension our guests choose, we will take care of details like ship-to-hotel transportation, hotel accommodations and sightseeing in the world's most fascinating cities -- from Paris to Prague and Budapest to Berlin."
In addition to Avalon YourWay packages, booked cruisers can continue to customize their vacations with other programs such as Avalon Waterways' Avalon Choice, a selection of included shore excursions. Those who prefer to explore independently also can use the AvalonGo app, which features a list of nearby attractions, maps and directions.
