(6:30 p.m. EST) -- Celebrity Cruises has partnered with acclaimed NYC-based chef Daniel Boulud, as well as the American Ballet Theater, to enhance its onboard offerings. Boulud will develop a three-course menu for the line's Luminae restaurant, while the American Ballet will perform on select sailings and create a series of seminars, ballet barre classes and children's classes for the line, also for select sailings.

Cruise Critic got the scoop on the new partnerships at a Wednesday evening reveal in New York City.

Daniel Boulud

As part of its partnership with Chef Boulud, Celebrity has named the chef its Global Culinary Ambassador. He will work in tandem with Celebrity's head chef, Chef Cornelius Gallagher, to develop a three-course dinner to be offered at Luminae, the line's exclusive dining venue for suite guests. The Boulud menu will be in addition to Luminae's regular offerings and will be available nightly, across the fleet.

"We're really selective, and we don't just partner with anyone," Gallagher said tonight at the event. Gallagher was a sous chef for Boulud, back in the day. "Daniel, for me, is the best chef I've ever worked with -- knowing him and how he operates, that he's a perfectionist but also flexible. It's not just my way or the highway. We wanted someone who personifies elegance, class, finesse and polish."

On every sailing, a Chef's Table by Daniel Boulud will be offered twice. The evening will begin with Daniel Boulud's signature Champagne and canapes, followed by a private galley tour and then a five-course dinner with wine pairings. Diners will receive a cookbook to commemorate the experience.

Additionally, twice per year, Daniel Boulud chefs will host onboard cooking demonstrations, attend VIP guest receptions, and prepare lunch or dinner with a ship chef featuring signature Boulud cuisine.

Off the ship, the partnership also includes mentorship opportunities for young, up-and-coming chefs to learn in a Celebrity ship kitchen, as well as in a Daniel Boulud restaurant. Newly promoted executive chefs from the Celebrity fleet will also have the chance to participate in an internship at a Daniel Boulud restaurant.

American Ballet Theater

Celebrity Cruises will bring classical dance to sea on select sailings via its partnership with the American Ballet Theater. Twelve sailings in 2019, and six in 2020 -- spread out among all ships in the fleet except Celebrity Edge -- will feature performances by the American Ballet company, as well as a series of seminars, ballet barre dance classes and children's ballet classes.

In ports where American Ballet Theater performances are available, cruisers will be able to purchase to the shows as part of the line's shore excursion offerings.

"At Celebrity, we're always like to innovate and we like to surprise our guests too" the line's vice president of entertainment, Becky Thomson Foley, said at the event. "The goal of American Ballet Theater if for as many people in the world to see ballet as possible.

"We like to give our guests something unexpected, maybe they've never even thought about seeing the ballet or taking a ballet class. Now this opens up something to them. A nice way for our guests to try it and taste it."
