(12:45 p.m. EST) -- Craft lovers on Carnival cruises can now preserve their vacation memories in a variety of creative ways, through the line's new partnership with art supplies retailer Michaels.

Available across the fleet, the "Make It with Michaels" experience allows passengers to create personalized key chains, bracelets, picture frames and other merchandise to bring home as souvenirs. The activity, held in each ship's atrium, is free of charge; Carnival also provides all the materials for the project. Professional photos taken during the cruise can be purchased at the Pixels Photo Gallery.

"At Carnival, we are committed to providing guests of all ages with the widest variety of choices at sea, and we are delighted to partner with Michaels to create this inspiring and experiential program," said Carnival's VP of entertainment, Chris Nelson. "We are always on the lookout for ways to enhance our onboard experiences, particularly as it relates to the family market, and this new partnership will provide a memorable, fun and creative outlet for our guests to make wonderful vacation memories together."

Outside the ships, Carnival-themed classes will be offered in 1,200 Michaels stores nationwide, beginning in spring 2019. Carnival and Michaels also have launched a joint contest, for a chance to win one of five cruises.
