(11:50 a.m. EST) -- Silversea Cruises has unveiled the ultimate adventure for 2021: a 167-night expedition world cruise that will take active travelers to remote destinations throughout Antarctica, South America, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia and Europe.
The "Unchartered World Tour" -- the first cruise of its kind -- will begin in Ushuaia, Argentina, on January 30 and end in Tromso, Norway, on July 16, visiting a total of 107 ports in 30 countries along the way. It is one of two world cruises Silversea is offering in 2021.
A team of scientists and other knowledgeable experts will host educational lectures onboard the ship, Silver Cloud, while guided shore excursions -- all included in the cruise fare -- will focus on exploration and unique experiences; they range from a private dinner on London Tower Bridge's walkway to an exclusive Viking feast in Iceland's Kjarnaskogur Forest.
Destination highlights include the Chilean Fjords; Easter Island; Fiji and other South Pacific islands; Oceania, including Papua New Guinea; Australia's Kimberly coast; Indonesia; Singapore; Sri Lanka; India; the Greek Islands; Portugal; Iceland; and Norway's Svalbard Region. Unlike most world cruises, which sail west to east, this itinerary will take passengers northward, from Antarctica to the Arctic.
"Building on our already remarkable World Cruise offering, Silversea will become the first-ever cruise line to launch an Expedition World Cruise in 2021," said Silversea Cruises' CEO Roberto Martinoli. "This momentous voyage is the result of 10 years of experience and industry-leading knowledge -- qualities which enable us to unlock remarkable travel experiences for our guests and have contributed to our reputation as the industry leader."
Top accommodations on this cruise cost just under $1 million, and fares include the following: business class air, a charter flight from Santiago to Ushuaia, the pre-cruise hotel, the aforementioned shore excursions, exclusive World Cruise events, private transfers, commemorative expedition gear, $2,000 onboard credit, laundry service, unlimited Wi-Fi, medical services and visas.

In addition to the Unchartered World Tour, Silversea will sail a second world cruise in 2021. Described as the "Finest World Tour," the 150-night itinerary offered on Silver Whisper will explore the culture and fine dining of 54 ports in 34 countries.
Although shore excursions on this cruise are not covered, passengers will receive $2,000 onboard credit and enjoy the other inclusions such as business class airfare and transfers. Passengers also can take advantage of Silversea's complimentary, independent-tour programs: Dine Around Town, for the chance to eat at fine dining restaurants in their choice of two of four cities, and Your Day Your Way, which provides English-speaking guides and transportation services to those who wish to explore on their own.
The Finest World Tour begins in Fort Lauderdale on January 7 and ends in New York City on June 6. Among the destination highlights are the Panama Canal; the South Pacific; Australia and New Zealand; Southeast Asia, China and Japan; and the Mediterranean.
Silversea's two 2021 World Cruises will open for booking to the general public in March 2019.
