(11.30 a.m. AEST) -- Seven Seas Explorer will sail in Australian waters for the first time on 28 December 2020, entering via Darwin before arriving in Sydney on 6 January 2021.

Built at a cost of more than US$450 million, the latest Regent Seven Seas Cruises ship will be one of the most luxurious ever to sail in Australia and New Zealand. Indeed, Seven Seas Explorer is trademarked by the cruise line as 'the most luxurious ship ever built', with more than an acre of marble, a US$7 million art collection and one of the world’s largest cruise ship suites.

Lisa Pile, Vice President Sales, Australia & New Zealand at Regent Seven Seas Cruises, says Seven Seas Explorer was built for "the 1-percenters", with no expense spared. “We are incredibly excited to be able to share her unrivalled elegance with local Australian and New Zealand travellers as part of her inaugural season, and to give them a taste of what a truly all-inclusive, luxury cruise ship offers.”

The 750-passenger Seven Seas Explorer features all-suite, all-balcony accommodation with European beds, marble bathrooms and some of the biggest verandas at sea. The Regent Suite has Picasso lithographs, a Steinway piano and an in-suite spa retreat with heated tile loungers, sauna and a hot tub on the balcony. Passengers in this suite also receive unlimited spa treatments and a private car with driver in every port.

Fare for all passengers include unlimited shore excursions, all drinks, dining in speciality restaurants, pre-paid gratuities, unlimited wi-fi, 24-hour room service and an in-suite liquor and mini-bar replenished daily, as well as a raft of spa fitness and wellness activities at the onboard Canyon Ranch Spa.

Nine itineraries exploring Australia, New Zealand, Asia and The South Pacific will be available onfrom November 2020 until April 2021. Several depart from or disembark in Sydney during the inaugural local season, including the 178-night Singapore to Sydney Balinese Celebration sailing; the 154-night Majesty of Milford cruise from Sydney to Auckland; the 14-night Grandeur of New Zealand sailing from Auckland to Sydney; the 18-night Koalas to Komodos cruise from Sydney to Bali; and a 15-night Radiance Of Thailand sailing from Bali to Hong Kong .
