First time with Marella

We haven’t been on cruise for a few years now and thought it would be good to get away without having to fly. We chose this cruise as it was adults only, all inclusive and reasonably priced. We also wanted to try Marella as we have heard good things, usual comment was ships are a bit older but service and food really good. The reduced capacity meant that it never felt crowded and relatively ...

Second cruise with Tui Marella but first as a solo. Met some lovely people as 2 solo reps. Hard to find a quiet spot except in my cabin as background music everywhere and usually of some screeching woman. Asked them to turn off but staff couldn't. Not at all relaxing. Terrible smell from drains or kitchen near dining rooms. Perhaps due to age of ship. Everywhere spotless clean and sanitisers ...

Iceland and Norway were on our bucket list so this cruise seemed the perfect way to tick them off. As destinations they didn’t disappoint and are both amazing places. We had sailed with Marella at Xmas in the Caribbean and selecting Marella again was an easy choice. This time departure was from Newcastle so no flights and extra luggage allowance. Departure was fine. It took a little while ...

Good cruise and itinerary, some things need a tweak!

We chose this cruise mainly for its itinerary and the dates it went on as we had a very limited time window to go away in. We have been with Marella before, a few years ago, and really enjoyed our last cruise around the Adriatic on a smaller ship . We are a fit and healthy couple in our late 40s and early 50s and travelled as a solo couple, no children or friends with us..although we made plenty ...

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Marella Explorer

We wanted to experience the beauty of Norway and the Midnight Sun Cruise fitted the bill perfectly. Port of Tyne is only a 60 min car drive away from home so it was very convenient for us. First time with Marella (TUI) having been P&O cruisers before. Overall a good experience and we would recommend this cruise, especially for beginners. But don’t expect to meet young people on this cruise. ...

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Marella Explorer

We always choose our cruises by itinerary, not cruise line and this one did not disappoint. Combination of fjords and the Arctic with the 24 hour daylight was perfect for us, Marella only do this route once a year and not many other cruise lines do trips into the Arctic Circle. First the good points - some people are a bit sniffy about Marella (Butlins at sea etc) but loads of positives for us. ...

We enjoyed our cruise and found the cruise itinerary to be very good, & found the ship to be spotless. The cleaning crew work very hard to keep every part of the ship gleaming. We always ate in the buffet restaurant and found the food selections to be generally good. We found the Buffet Restaurant staff very courteous, polite & efficient, always smiling. The Buffet Restaurant could be a ...

Food in main restaurants pretty average. All inclusive drinks package good (avoid Don Mendo white). Service excellent with special mention to Nico and David in the Atrium Bar and Yansi the lovely waitress. Oh, and the Snack Shack, a modest and underrated place where you can get hot instant and tasty food from talented staff. Rooms cleaned well by polite towel sculpturers,Captain looked and sounded ...

First time cruisers and TUI did not disappoint. From embarking at North Shields it was a total pleasure. The ship is still in canny nick and the staff were brilliant. Food was of a high standard in all waited restaurants and buffet did was it said on the tin. Only booked 1 trip with TUI which was very good, the ship dropped us off and made its way to another port while we were taken by bus ...

We chose Marella for the itinerary and we live 2 hours from Newcastle. We had great memory of Thomson Dream in the Caribbean. We chose Inter-cruise bus to get us to Newcastle. The sight at our arrival was like refugees with suitcases trying to escape. After 15 mins we were sent to a car park.Given our envelope with tags and cards. In the hall we were given a number. As we booked a suite we were ...
