As this was our first cruise we did not know what to expect and had nothing to compare it with, Newcastle is our nearest port so that was a bonus. The embarkation went smoothly with no long waiting time, our cases arrived at our cabin ten minutes after we did, our cabin, No. 874 had plenty of room lots of storage and all the facilities we needed. The overnight and next day sailing to Norway gave ...

Decided to do this cruise as goes from Newcastle, easy to get to for us. Loved the Fjords, very scenic and loved the places we docked in. Norway is very expensive though, we were warned about this so no surprise, we did not spend much money in Norway! We had a very turbulent night crossing the north sea, there was a storm and the ship was swaying a lot, they were making announcements saying ...

This was our 1st cruise and being very apprehensive of going into the unknown, We are so glad we booked this cruise Sailing from Newcastle was great only being a few hours up the motorway. Embarkation went smoothly seeing that we did not know what we was doing. We had a outside cabin on deck 2. The cabin was not that big but seeing you only slep in it, it was sufficient, Plenty of storage and ...

We are retired,we holiday at least 6 times a year and at the Glasgow cruise show in 2016 we were taken in by this cruise as it was somewhere we had wanted to go for years it sailed from a port only 90 miles from our home and we had a free few week, so why not!. Departure was a farse. Massive 'Q's' o get into the car park and no toilets. No bus to take us to the ship [it was only 100mts away but we ...

This was the first ship we ever cruised on and were looking forward to sailing on it again. Also chose for the itinerary Fire and Ice. Standards have dropped since we sailed with Thomson two years ago. Service in the Meridian restaurant was slow we waited an hour one night for our main course and on another half an hour for dessert and then were not offered tea or coffee.Food was only warm , not ...

We saw everything we hoped we would see and it was lovely. However, the ship itself was very poor. Within an hour of boarding the Captain informed us that there was a "level 3 sanitation" in progress. We soon discovered this meant complete shut down of swimming pools, saunas, jacuzzi, games room and laundrette. We were not informed of this problem before boarding but we had to sign that we had not ...

This was the first time i had ever cruised , i went with the hubby and 2 older children (20 + 16) nan and grandad. All i can say is we had a fabulous time fromstart to finish. Yes the cabin was basic but no more than i had imagined and i dont know about others but our holidays are not spent in a cabin. The ship was spotless if you stood still long enough you would have been cleanedtoo. All staff ...

Been with Thomson before but never to the fjords so decided to try this one. The fjords was excellent even though the weather wasn't the best, however the ship didn't impress us. We were constantly told the ship was on level 3 hygiene as they had previously had the 'sickness' bug on board. So everyone had to be served in the lido restaurant which meant the service was slow and food was often ...

Excellent cruise let down by poor destination and tours staff

Slightly dated ship but clean with hardworking friendly staff. Food in restaurant and Lido very good. Entertainment good. Friendly happy atmosphere on board. Only problem is the queuing, queue to book excursions, to be told they were full. Tours complete shambles no organisation, people missed Flam railway trip because they could not get on tender boats and missed train they were booked on. ...

This was our first cruise with Thomson and we were looking forward to visiting Norway. We did our research on the ports of call downloading information and maps that we wished to visit we booked and paid in advance for all the excursions at our local Thomson store and they were most helpful. EMBARKATION AT NEWCASTLE - At our arrival at Newcastle station we were greeted by Thomson reps ...
