Not keen on cruises due to being prone to sea sickness but Ambassador's Land of Fire and Ice looked too good to miss so we booked and included car parking at the port. From arrival in the port through to the express disembarkation at the end of the holiday we received great service from all the staff and were very happy with the arrangements for excursions, port to town transfers, time in port and ...
We wanted to experience the beauty of Norway and the Midnight Sun Cruise fitted the bill perfectly. Port of Tyne is only a 60 min car drive away from home so it was very convenient for us.
First time with Marella (TUI) having been P&O cruisers before. Overall a good experience and we would recommend this cruise, especially for beginners. But don’t expect to meet young people on this cruise. ...
Food in main restaurants pretty average. All inclusive drinks package good (avoid Don Mendo white). Service excellent with special mention to Nico and David in the Atrium Bar and Yansi the lovely waitress. Oh, and the Snack Shack, a modest and underrated place where you can get hot instant and tasty food from talented staff. Rooms cleaned well by polite towel sculpturers,Captain looked and sounded ...
We chose the Fred Olsen Cruise Line and especially the Balmoral because it could cruise right up into the fiords that we wanted to see. Some of the larger cruise lines cannot do this.
Excellent food and service in the Ballindalloch restaurant. Especially from our waiters Pat & Anthony.
Excellent service in the Observation Lounge where we spent evenings drinking a cocktail before dinner ...
First time cruisers and TUI did not disappoint.
From embarking at North Shields it was a total pleasure. The ship is still in canny nick and the staff were brilliant. Food was of a high standard in all waited restaurants and buffet did was it said on the tin.
Only booked 1 trip with TUI which was very good, the ship dropped us off and made its way to another port while we were taken by bus ...
We have travelled with Fred Olsen before, often to Norway, and have always enjoyed our holidays. We chose this trip to accompany some friends who were new to Fred and Norway and we always enjoy a visit to the fjords so this was perfect.
Embarkation from Newcastle was easy with lots of pleasant, helpful staff. There seemed to be lots of first timers on this trip, first cruise, first with Fred ...
A smaller ship than most cruise ships and somewhat old by comparison but nonetheless the overall facilities where very good. Our cabin was twin berthed (could have been for 4) and adequate, not as luxurious as the more modern ships. It was adequate for our needs but you would not want to spend hours in it apart from sleeping. The public area's where very clean and despite the ship being full ...
Embarkation was quick and easy with only a medium queue to deal with. We got to our cabin, the bags arrived and we went up to the lounge for tea and sandwiches. We knew the ship as we had cruised on her last October. Our stewardess from that cruise greeted us in the corridor and we find that most pleasant.
The cabin was equipped for 3 beds so we had good storage drawers and wardrobes and ...
This was a cruise booked through Saga. Picked up from home address to Newcastle where booking in went smoothly. Cabin was for solo occupancy and the bed was bigger than a single bed but a bit smaller than a double. Cabin had plenty of room to store clothes and case.My mobile phone would not work due to dispute between o2 and Fred Olsen and wi-fi was £13 a day so had to rely on roaming when I ...
