We chose this cruise as it was an Atlantic crossing and wanted to see some new stops that we had not visited. We found the boarding process in NYC to be very efficient. The ship is not built for 4000 passengers as there was very little seating in the dining rooms, bars, buffet, atrium, showroom, other venues where people wanted to view some entertainment options. The wait at the dining rooms ...
We booked this transatlantic after our Christmas trip with family was canceled due to illness AND to join some good friends on their first transatlantic. We set our expectations low even though we hadn’t sailed Epic previously as we had friends who had done so. At 6’-6” my biggest concern was the short bed. This indeed proved to be the biggest but not the only issue.
I ended up sleeping ...
Transatlantic to Spain.this was the worst cruise we have been on ever! Be prepared tho stand in line no matter what you are doing!!!anytime dinning means anytime you wait in line for an hour to get a buzzer that makes you wait for another 40 minutes… every time you eat unless you go to the buffet! Buffet has same food every day and other dining rooms (taste and manhattan) are packed. We had a ...
We enjoy TA and NCL had a pretty good itinerary. First time on NCL many people you spoke with before the cruise always were cautious on comment on NCL, now we understand.
the Epic has its well commented on issues, weird small cabins, dirty soot from stacks, we agree with all of these comments. This will be our first and last cruise with NCL as our biggest issues we’re with cruise lines poor ...
This cruise from NYC to Rome was quite interesting. Some good, but far to many missteps by NCL. This was a 16 day cruise from NYC to Rome.
The Good. The entertainment was first rate. "Burn the Floor" and "Six" were both professional presented and satisfying to watch. The various bands around the ship were good. The Syd Norman show was excellent. The combined ship band concert in the ...
This was our 5th transatlantic and 1st back to back cruise. Things have improved in NYC terminal as far as organization of embarking passengers. We had a "balcony" cabin (somewhat smaller than what we have had in the past) which was fine. The food/bar and housecleaning/general staff went above and beyond and are second to none. Problems we encountered was with guest services and administration. ...
We just returned from the Epic transatlantic.
So positives first: Not so many people sailing, approx 1400 on a ship that has the capacity of over 4000 so there was always plenty of seats available in the bars and lounges and the bar and restaurant service was quick and all the staff were friendly.
Food was pretty much up to the usual Norwegian Cruise Line standard which is better than some ...
We have cruised many times with NCL. I’m a platinum member and we have always enjoyed our previous cruises, however ;this cruise was not not up to par.
Every concern had required two or more calls to get someone to address the problems in our ADA balcony cabin. The shower flooded, banging in the wall entailed completely breaking down our sliding door and adjacent wall, and the shower door ...
We choose this cruise for the ports. Unfortunately due to the seas we missed St. John’s and Dublin.
Weather cannot be helped and everyone’s safety is most important. That is the risk whenever you cruise, you may not get to all the ports.
I had cruised Oceania before years ago. The difference today, entertainment was horrible, especially doing a transatlantic you are waiting for it. You can ...
How to ruin a great ship, add lots of dinning rooms, charge extra for most, add more reservations, provide lousy service, call it dynamic dinning.
Be aware menus repeat after only a few days in the complimentary dining rooms.
Entertainment, Mamma Mia, reservation was not available when we finally got out of the dining room, so we missed that performance. The other two main shows were not ...
