Wanted to go to Bermuda and see a bit of the Western Caribbean. It was relaxing with good music and entertainment. The special speakers were very interesting. Liked the convenience of free washers and dryers. Met some very nice people. Staff all very helpful. The spa looked very nice, but never went in- afterwards someone said that it was free - don't know if this is true. We used the walking ...
We are a married couple (no kids) in our 40's who are early retirees and travel permanently. We added cruising as a mode of travel over the last couple of years and are no sailing around 100 days a year. Most of our cruises have been on the mid size ships of the major lines (Celebrity, HAL, NCL) with one cruise on Regent. We are in the midst of trying a variety of new lines.
Overall we thought ...
This was our first ocean cruise, and we chose Viking because of the small ship, no photographers, no casino and no kids. We thought that we would be overwhelmed with people after our experience with the 100 passenger Viking river cruise ships. Not so, the ships facilities were such that we never felt any crowding in any location. We had upgraded to a penthouse veranda and the extra space was very ...
Our first larger ship as we were also able to enjoy trips with the Viking River Tours. As prior customers we experienced the same top quality in all forms of services. The tours were extensive and informative even enjoyed the previews given in their beautiful auditorium with feature videos of the days excursions. Our rooms were always fresh and inviting and with these larger ships, the room ...
We had room service and a scrumptious breakfast on the days we had an early tour and it was no extra cost. We enjoyed high tea only once we need to take a longer tour with a day st sea so we can enjoy all the benefits on the ship. We loved the Alaskan king crab legs and the specialty restaurants we loved the Nordic spa experience. They really thought of everything when they designed the ship there ...
Both embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. We were always treated with a welcoming attitude by the crew in all departments. Very professional but also very personable. Having been on Holland America and Oceania, which we also thoroughly enjoyed, Viking has made a lasting impression! Due to its smaller size and number of passengers as well as the comfortable open and inviting common ...
We are just off of the Viking Star...around the Caribbean Sea cruise. We left oct. 18 from Manhattan, NYC. It was a blustery warm day. This was our 1st ocean cruise after several river cruises (also w viking).
It is a fabulous ship. Clean...very clean...with a tremendous staff. They always went above and beyond....from the housekeeping staff to waiters on up! We had done a ...
We chose this cruise as it was two weeks in duration, a good price and had four islands we hadn’t yet visited. We enjoy the fact that just about everything is paid for up front so there’s no big surprise at the end. Wine and beer with lunch and dinner always flow freely. Soft drinks/juices, tea and coffee are available 24 hours a day and water is provided before leaving on excursions. There are ...
We spent a few days ahead of this cruise "doing" New York city -- seeing a couple of outstanding plays and touring the 9/11 Memorial. Ironically enough, that time became even more memorable and enjoyable in some ways than the cruise on Viking Star itself. Embarkation was a hassle only because the precise location of the ship was not made known to us, so our Uber driver had to drop us a ...
I've heard wonderful things about Viking river cruises, and wanted to try the new ocean itinerary that didn't require overseas travel. Admittedly, the Caribbean is not my favorite destination in general, but it was a lot more accessible than any of the other itineraries.
The most unpleasant part of the trip was the redeye flight on American. The lights from all of the video screens, constant ...
