Good Trip; Weather issue

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We love NCL; this was our fourth cruise with them. Started with a weather issue and Bermuda drop as a port; we did not find this out until we were in the check-in line. Not a problem, no one can control the weather! With this change, our itinerary was reversed from the original plan. NCL service is great and one of the reasons we love it; helpful staff, nice and clean public areas, pool, ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Venezia

This was our 7th cruise with Carnival. First time cruising out of New York. Also our first time visiting New York. We stayed 2 nights prior to the cruise, at the Comfort Inn Midtown. The hotel is only about 1-1/2 blocks from the port so it was very easy walking to the ship on embarkation day. The cruise port is not as big as the ports in Florida so it was a bit more crowded, but overall, ...

This was my 5th on QM2 over the last 10 years. I've travelled QG once, PG 3 times and Brittania once. This trip was PG. I'm a spa relaxer type cruiser. The spa, now run by Morell was, frankly, filthy. the hydrotherapy oil crusting in dirt all around the perimeter. The showers dirty, foot baths and ice maker inoperable, main steam room dirty and Finnish Sauna unlit. I was literally shocked. I ...

Classic NCL--not a bad thing, at all

I wanted to shake the holiday season up, given that there are only so many years of turkey, christmas trees, & family drama left in me, so I booked this cruise. It ended up as a solo cruise (don't ask), & I found myself in spa balcony room. Here's my impressions (disclaimer: this was my 4th NCL cruise), & I hope you find them helpful, if not entertaining: CABIN: Solid. A/C was kind of ...

Great cruise, but what is it with the tea bags?

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

I cruised with my husband; this was our 9th cruise with NCL and our 16th overall. We like leaving from NYC because we live in NJ and prefer not having to fly to disembarkation port. We chose this cruise because we haven’t been to the southern Caribbean and we were especially interested in a Panama Canal visit. Getting onto the ship from the Manhattan Cruise Port was delayed due to “Coast ...

Great Ship and Crew, Not so with some Guests

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Carnival Venezia

Carnival has put together a wonder ship with an Italian Venizia theme. The decor is just wonderful and welcomed change from the many other cruise lines we have sailed. We found the start of the cruise was well organized with passengers getting on by group assignment. Throughout the cruise we found the crew involved with our room and dining to be friendly and helpful. Each day included ...

Being gluten sensitive on NCL's Joy.

We cruised with a large group of 58 people. The 12 day re-positioning cruise left from NY & we flew home from Miami. I read many reviews about NCL's policy for people with gluten intolerance & felt safe going. I met with an assistant dining room manager & she met with me every night with the menus for the following day. I learned that NCL has a separate kitchen for preparing gluten free foods. ...

Amazing Family Holiday

We booked with NCL because we were looking for a family friendly, affordable cruise. We cruised with our just turned 3 year old daughter and were excited that she would be able to take part in the children's programming. We were unfortunately disappointed in the lack of activities she could participate in because she was not completely potty trained, and therefore not allowed to take part in any ...

The Getaway

Because the Gem is no longer sailing out of NYC in the winter we had to catch the Getaway for our annual winter vacay. The NCL Getaway is part of the Breakaway class & is a larger ship at 145,655 tons & a guest capacity of 3,963 passengers & 1,646 crew. Because the ship is larger it has more decks devoted to balcony cabins & more dining options than the Gem. It also features a different layout ...

About the Reviewer: I’m a middle-aged American male who traveled solo this trip. This was my 31st Norwegian Cruise Line voyage and my 55th cruise overall. I have sailed primarily on NCL with a handful of cruises with Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, MSC and Carnival. This was my eighth cruise back after the pandemic restart and my fourth back with Norwegian Cruise Line. My previous cruise was on the ...
