Nice time, lack luster ship.

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Emerald Princess

Recently, my wife and I took the October 28 sailing to Canada and New England on EMERALD PRINCESS. Overall, it was a very nice, relaxing trip. Here’s the skinny: Embarkation in Brooklyn. We entered the Brooklyn cruise terminal at 12:28 in the afternoon, and because we had the “Green Lane” we stepped on board the ship 12 minutes later at 12:40. Without doubt, this was the easiest and quickest ...

Positive first experience with Princess

I chose this sailing because it was a new cruise line and I didn't pay full price for the sailing. I had researched this ship and Princess throughly before booking and sailing. I knew what I was getting into because the ship is pretty old. The colors and furnishings are dated. With that said, everything was clean and the outside of the ship looked nice. Princess is in the same class as ...

This was my first cruise on princess. Took a mini suite which was nice but the boat gave me a room all the way in the front of the boat and on tender days it felt and sounded like the anchor was in my room. I personally didn't like the daytime activities on the boat. Didn't seem like there was much to do. Purchased the premier plus package which was good and worth the money if you like ...

Great crew

We loved the crew. Everyone was very helpful and very pleasant. The ship was average but it does need some work. Very limited outlets in the rooms. Our bathroom stunk from floor drains that are never cleaned. These should be cleaned and sanitized regularly. We had to keep the bathroom door closed so we could sleep at night and it wasn’t odor from human waste. The sill on our sliding door to the ...

Nice Ship - But Annoying Problems

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Caribbean Princess

This cruise was VERY hard to rate. The layout of the ship, the food, the service and the comedy and magic entertainment were all very good. The itinerary was good in Newport, Boston, St. John and Quebec -- otherwise there wasn't a lot more to see. Unfortunately there were numerous sour notes. The ship was old but mostly well maintained. In our cabin, however, the mattress was nearly worn ...

I chose this cruise for the itinerary. I love going to New England and Canada, and I liked that we would be in port every day except the last day. I live close to Brooklyn and my friend lives in Brooklyn, so I suggested we go on this cruise together. She has cruised on Princess before and I haven't, and she told me I'd be in for a treat. Well, not so much in this case. Embarkation in Brooklyn ...

I was so excited to finally experience my first Princess cruise, on this Canada & New England sailing on the Emerald Princess 9th - 16th September 2023. I was just left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied for this experience. I am a travel agent, I’ve been in the industry for almost 20 years, I’m well travelled, well educated & have cruised many times with your far superior competitors. I ...

Ship has seen better days

My third time on this ship, this time from New York to Quebec. Ship has not aged well. Elevators out of service for months, thermostat in room broken - took 3 days to fix. Medallion had to be replaced 3 times. No maple syrup or real horseradish on the ship. Not only is there not traditional dining, you have to remember who you gave your special dietary order to the night before - really? When ...

East Coast Fall Cruise on Caribbean Princess

We chose this 10-day cruise because of the US and Canadian east coast itinerary. We gave this cruise a “three” rating because of the entire cruise experience, from leaving our home, the cruise and the trip back to our home. To be fair to Princess cruise line, Hurricane Fiona decided to create havoc to the schedule. We were only able to visit three of our seven scheduled ports because of ...

Cold and Foggy for 5 days

Wanted to see New York, Newfoundland. Too many sea days . Too cold to go on pool deck. (My fault for not doing better homework) . No enclosed pool or heated pools. Missed first port in Greenland due to rough water, 4 days of Fog day and night. Really unless your into Geography or Inuit heritage there is not much to see in Greenland. Did see icebergs. No sea life . Did not see any whales ...
