This was the last Caribbean Princess cruise leaving New York ports for any southern cruising from November 2012 through the 2013 to perhaps and hopefully returning in 2014. That and the original itnerary is why I booked this one cruise for 2012.
Although our cruise itinerary was shortened from 10 to 8 days due to the effects of hurricane Sandy, we departed from the best New york port, Pier 8 ...
We arrived at the Brooklyn pier to rain and snow flurries. The forecast called for the weather to get worse....Check-in was a little strange as we were directed away from the Platinum/Elite lounge. After correcting this oversight, we were ushered in like a breeze on a sail. The wait in the lounge was quite pleasant and by 11:30am we were let on the ship.....the snow was amazing.....a CC tip to ...
We arrived in at the New York cruise terminal at about 10:30ish and check in was a breeze. Boarding started right before noon and we were the second group to be called. We were greeted with smiles and excitement from all who welcomed us. Our rooms were ready when we got on and we met our steward Roger who was absolutely wonderful the entire trip. Our first thing of course was to wonder the around ...
We have cruised with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland and decided it was time to try Princess (or maybe it was my wish to finally get on the 'Love Boat').. We thought it would be interesting to sail out of New York and it was. We spent a day in New York prior to sailing- did the double decker bus to try and fit it all in.. Took a taxi to the pier and from the curb to the boat- ...
Traveling out of Brooklyn was very easy. Leaving and arriving was a breeze. We always stay a couple of days before we sail in Manhattan and use a car service. From the cruise port to the airport to use a service like Carmel is much cheaper than the cruise line transfer.
The only rain was day 3 after we boarded from a day in Grand Turk. Other wise it was beautiful, sunny and warm. The pools ...
As I look back on this cruise I can honestly say that it was an excellent all around experience. Princess definitely has a good mix of a formal, casual and relaxed atmosphere depending on where you are and what kind of person you are.
Cabin: We had a balcony cabin and it was just perfect for us. The size was adequate, no to small but not overly large for a balcony either. It was great ...
Chose this cruise as it is out of Brooklyn and no flying. From door to port was about an hour. Brooklyn cruise terminal very organized. Parking not a problem. Entered terminal, went directly to check in and after about 30 minutes on our way on the ship. Rooms were ready so we dropped off our carry ons and went to the buffet. Found the ship to be in very good condition and clean.Room was nice, ...
We are a professional couple with a lot of crusing experience on RCCL, HAL, MSC, NCL and now have Platimum status on Princess. Our last cruise was on the Emerald Princess over New Year's. General comparison: the New Year's cruise had more entertainement, more of a party atmosphere, an extra "special" diner night (new year's eve diner)in the dining room, and far more kids on board. This cruise was ...
Great cruise overall on the Caribbean Princess from NY(Brooklyn) to Bermuda, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Grand Turk.
Overall, great cruise with no significant issues. I was traveling with my wife, sister and brother in law, all of us in our 50's. We have all cruised before on Royal Caribbean and Disney, but never on Princess.
Left out of Brooklyn. Embarkation was a breeze. Took a ...
This was our (me and my husband) 5th cruise with Princess (I have cruised twice with Carnival) and we were very pleased. I was a bit nervous as the ship was going into drydock soon, but she was not run down looking..some mild aesthic issues but nothing signficant. We booked a BF guarantee and were upgraded to a BA on Caribe. The balcony was great as we were able to have shade throughout most of ...
