We arrived at the Brooklyn pier to rain and snow flurries. The forecast called for the weather to get worse....Check-in was a little strange as we were directed away from the Platinum/Elite lounge. We started the cruise in NYC; actually we stayed in Newark at the Hilton Penn Station hotel and found this to be very easy to get into and out of NYC at a fraction of the price of a NYC hotel. I think we paid about $120 per night and thought it was a great deal plus we could leave our hotel room, walk across the covered ramp to Penn Station, catch the train and are at World Trade area in 15 mins. ...

We booked this trip, after a bad experience we had on the CB in July of 2010, after some luring by Princess to try the ship off peak time.
