We are in our mid 60's and this was our 7th cruise, second on NCL. Enjoy train travel so we Amtraked from Indiana to Newark, NJ. Spent the night at the Fairfield Inn. Nice clean room for under $130. Hot breakfast included. Saved a bundle by not staying in NYC. Carmel Limo delivered us to the Spirit at 11:30 and we were on board a few minutes after noon. We were greeted by members of the ...

This review written by Linda. We (Jon and Linda) arrived at the ship from our hotel in Newark about 9:30 a.m and were directed to the back of the room with other suite passengers. Embarkation was delayed because there was a wedding on board. Staff was very cordial and we were the first to board when allowed. The Spirit is absolutely gorgeous - very Asian dEcor, subtle, unlike the colors and ...

We decided to take this cruise due to the price and the fact that it went out of New York (we live in Boston). We had done the NCL Majesty out of Boston to Bermuda a few years ago and loved it, loved the free style dining option and at that time brought 3 teenagers with us. Last year we did the Royal Jewel of Seas 12 day cruise out of Boston to Caribbean and Bermuda and that was great however we ...

NCL Spirit was perfect in so many ways, especially for first time cruise. My wife and i flew from Manchester Uk to New York and spent 4 days in the Crown Plaza Midtown. My poor size nine feet became size 12's and i have never walked so far in my life. Last but not least, i felt safer in the big apple than i do back home in Liverpool or Manchester! Our cruise began some what negative, having been ...

This was our first cruise on Norwegian - our previous cruise was on Celebrity. To avoid weather related problems getting to N.Y.C. in winter, we stayed at the Mid-town Holiday inn the night before embarkation. The Holiday Inn is quite close to the pier, and I believe it was cheaper to book the hotel on line directly from Holiday Inn, & take a cab to the pier (which we did) rather than book the ...

My partner, two daughters, mom and I sailed on the Norwegian Spirit out of New York on their Christmas cruise, leaving New York on the WInter Solstice. My mom is a dedicated cruiser and this cruise was our very generous gift from her. My partner is not a cruise person and it was not our first choice of a vacation but on the whole we enjoyed ourselves. Embarkation would have been a nightmare, ...

The following is an honest review from someone who has previously cruised three times. My previous cruises were on Carnival's Destiny and Paradise, and Costa's Mediterranea. I've read many Norwegian Spirit cruise reviews and member comments prior to embarking on this cruise so I was somewhat worried about the rough seas, bad food, bed bugs, tired ship, etc. Hopefully, this review will help ...

This was a delayed honeymoon cruise for my wife and me, after getting married in October. First off, I should mention that Norwegian went above and beyond for us even before we got on board. We originally booked our trip through an internet service, mostly because it was advertising the same rates as elsewhere, but they offered a free shore excursion, so we went with them. After booking, I noticed ...

NCL SPIRIT Used AMTRAK form Plattsburgh NY to NYC. First time doing this and would do so again. We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn on 6th Ave & 39th. Very nice stay, but expect to spend a good deal more on lodging in New York. Embarkation was smooth for the most part as we got there after 1pm. Be cautious of getting to the Port too early in NYC as you can run into the Disembarkation ...

This was a spur of the moment cruise for my husband (60) and myself (58). We were celebrating his retirement. We drove into NYC and parked at the pier. Parking was easy and the cost was not prohibitive; $180 for the entire trip. The wait to get on the ship was not very long and we were aboard by 12:45 PM. We have been on many Caribbean cruises and sailed with many different lines. After reading ...
