Winter Break on the Getaway

Review for Norwegian Getaway to Bahamas

My two grandkids had winter break ( New York Metro area) and we all needed a break. We love sailing from New York ( Westside pier) as it is a half hour from our house. We picked the kids and my daughter up at nine and were in the Haven waiting area by 9:45. This itinerary had undergone multiple changes. They eliminated Norfolk ( we lost our day in Colonial Williamsburg) added and subtracted ...

This is my third Norwegian cruise, and it will be my last. Our itinerary changed several times before we sailed. They took away Virginia and added in Miami, then took away Miami. When we were at Cape Canaveral they added Miami back and took away Bermuda (weather related). The NCL application (9.95 per person) worked inconsistently. Everything I went to use it, I needed to disconnect and ...

My husband and I traveled with our two adult children, our son-in-law and our two grandchildren. There were 7 of us in three cabins. If I add up what everyone spent on this trip it probably came close to $26,000 not including air fare, hotel, and personal expenses. If I add that in it was closer to $30,000. We had a 2 bedroom Haven cabin and the grandchildren stayed with us, one adult child had a ...

Love going out of New York City as we hate flying! Staying in Newark night before with private car transport great service though tri ni ty reservation excellent! Little bit of a wait in terminal meeting some nice fellow travelers one who unfortunately got Covid-19 and was in room for duration. We didn’t get sick. Food was adequate not outstanding. Best was Cagney and we went twice ribeye steak ...

We booked our first post covid19 cruise on the NCL Getaway for 12 nights out of New York City departure on 1-20-23. Booking through Priceline we enjoyed tips included and $300.00 onboard credit, cashed out in casino. Balcony deck 13 aft port side. Using Trinity reservations again for $423.00 beautiful new hotel at spring hill suites in Newark room parking and breakfast plus a dedicated suv for ...

My family choose this cruise line because it was for 12 days and the 7 ports of calls appealed to us. This was our 7th cruise so we were pretty familiar with how the cruise lines operated in general. The first issue I noticed was the odour in our stateroom the minute we were able to enter. I didn’t think much of it because I have a highly sensitive sense of smell. The odour carried into most ...

I have been on over 20 cruises. I love cruising. I have cruised on Celebrity, NCL, Princess, RCL, Windstar and Carnival. I picked this cruise because of the ports. Puerto Rico, St Thomas, St Kitts, St Lucia (was replaced with Dominica) Antigua, Barbados and Dominican Republic. It was a twelve-day cruise, and I traveled solo in a club balcony room. There was a solo group meet up each night at ...

The Good This was my first solo cruise as a fairly recent widow. The cruise met almost all my expectations with amazing New Year’s Eve revelry, thermal spa experience, and most importantly the Solo Cruise Coordinator, Lucas. It was wonderful to meet daily with other solo’s to plan activities and meals. Lucas did a marvelous job making our dinner and show reservations, providing fun daily ...

This was our second cruise on NCL. The first (to Mexico early last year) was so positively memorable that we really looked forward to the Getaway cruise leaving NYC on New Year's Day. However, our experience with this Getaway cruise could not be more negative. I am very surprised that the other reviews of this sailing were not universally negative. First, the change in itinerary. We believe that ...

We went on this cruise due to its location and its destination. Our son and his girlfriend joined us for this 8-night cruise out of NYC Manhattan terminal. We left on NYE and was hoping to enjoy the harbor as we left NYC, but unfortunately it was foggy out and we didn't see anything but a few lights through the fog. It was also cold outside, so didn't really want to be on the outside deck ...
