My husband and I love to cruise. We chose this cruise because it leaves out of NY and gets us away from the cold for a while. Embarkation went well. Meals in the restaurants were very good. My husband had a problem with one of his meals in the main dining room and we were given a bottle of house wine for our troubles. Housekeeping service was excellent with Renaldo being the best housekeeper ...

The price was a great deal. First time ever to have an inside room it was ok except for being at front of ship. Able to feel more rocking, rolling & noises of the ship. Besides this everything else was amazing. The 2 specialty restaurants we booked were above expectations. We were treated like royalty, mind you every restaurant we ate at we were treated like royalty even the buffet. Each ...

It was such a good price with no single supplement so booked it straightaway. PRE CRUISE. I booked the flights but as it was very late could only get a good price with flying to GENEVA and staying overnight then another flight next morning to NEW YORK. Got into NEW YORK around 1200 and went to HOSTEL and checked in. Went to the CRUISE PORT and got there in time to see NCL ESCAPE leave. Then ...

Disappointing

This was my 3rd solo cruise on the Gem, and the worst experience by far. The cleanliness and maintenance of the ship has deteriorated a lot since the first time I sailed; there are far fewer crew members on board, so much so that it can take 2 hours to get through dinner in the main dining rooms. Food arrived cold quite frequently; the entertainment was poor compared to other cruises. I ...

Where to begin...Upon arrival at the Manhattan cruise port, we were poorly greeted with a rapidly declining cruise staff. Although the wait was short to board the vessel, we still managed to be scolded for not following the propr seating procedures. After going through security , we came upon another pissed off NCL employee and we asked why no one was smiling and the NCL employee stated to me, ...

This was my first cruise ever. It was a 12 day cruise which was great in my opinion. I went with a group of friends, we were in our 40s to 50s age group, along with my friend's parents in their 70s. We all enjoyed the ship. There was plenty to do on the ship if you like taking a relaxing walk, getting some sun, or spending time along or with people. The food in the buffet and main dining ...

Great Cruise with Slight Disappointment

My wife and I chose this cruise because it was sailing close to where we lived (Delaware). Had a terrible time the first day at sea because of sea sickness. I guess you hit rough waters from New York but it gets better once you get to the Caribbean side. We enjoyed the variety of food on cruise, however, we were very disappointed with the Orchid Garden. First time the food was Ok. We thought may ...

We got such a great deal, that we could not pass it up. This cruise was our first experience with the Specialty Dinning. It was nice, but not sure it is worth the extra expense. Still do not not care for the Freestyle Dinning. We prefer to have the same wait staff and table. We have found on previous cruises a wait staff that We liked and would request their area. This time there seemed to be a ...

We choose this cruise because the price was cheap (33 % off money on pair ) . When we get on the ship we were terefy about the price of Beer and the wine . They charged us 15 $ for opening my bottle of wine . ( i did not bring it to dinning room ) it was a twist cap and i opened by my self . I try the talk with the Hotel Director but he was too busy whit his family on the ship. The guest ...

We like Norwegian and it works with the schedule we have. Have been on the Gem before but feel she needs a refurbishing. Carpets were worn in many areas - the transition of caret from stairs to next level was deceiving, had to be really careful did not miss the step and fall. It was obvious that our cabin had a problem since over my bed the ceiling was black and had some of the ceiling material ...
