"The one in La Cucina was good, the service was attentive as well.I am hoping that the decline in food was just an off week because the rest of the cruise was good...."Read More

Never Again NCL

Review for Norwegian Gem to Bermuda

Charter cruise/music experience on a cruise. I've sailed on many ships to many locations. While the charter piece of this cruise was extremely well done, NCL was horrible as a provider of the sailing experience. Sailed on the The Gem. Again, I realize this was a charter and an old smaller ship so my comments take that into consideration. Food: Horrible, tasteless, always cold and items ...

NCL Gem Review 3/6/2020 through 3/16/2020 Sorry, this is a long one. I almost did not write it. I mean with so many more serious things on our minds lately. But then I thought, this cruise was exceptional and maybe people need to hear that. 4 Adults in the Garden Villa Suite 14000. Both my husband and I are platinum plus latitude members. We had booked an H3 months prior but once ...

Wow. First time on the Gem. I was impressed by how attentive the entire staff was. From the executive officers (who were ALWAYS approachable) all the way down the line, everyone made us feel welcomed. The Cruise Director (and staff) were fun, funny and totally involved with the passengers. The stage shows were excellent. We went to Blazing Boots and Get Down Tonight, both were high energy ...

Wonderful winter getaway

The Norwegian Gem was a wonderful ship to get away from the winter blahs in Ohio. We traveled to plenty of warm sunshiny ports with great people and great weather. The ship is small which I like. I meet numerous people and saw them several times throughout the cruise and we would talk like lifetime friends. Everyone was happy and worked their butts off to serve you and make the cruise the best ...

Enjoyed restaurants especially La Bistro had 2 excellent experiences there. Loved the ship size felt lines were not as long as on Escape and Breakaway. Cabin space small compared to other ships especially since we had a family size one. Our family size ocean view cabin on the Escape was such an impressive experience that we were expecting the same on the Gem. Also no lower deck outdoor space to ...

I chose this cruise because my senior community was running a group trip including bus transportation to/from NY port. Embarkation was orderly, but the lines to check in were very long, but once we got to the desk it was a breeze from there. We ate lunch at the maining dining room then our rooms were ready. Our balcony cabin "BA" was the only balcony room choice we had. We did try to upgrade to ...

Just returned on Friday. The ship is the perfect size. We had very smooth seas. The specialty restaurants were hit or miss. First time to Cagney it was extremely crowded but service was good. Next visit we waited over an hour for entree. We cancelled our third visit. LeBistro was always good. Husband had Escargot . Said it was delicious. I favor their lamb chops. Moderno was good and salad bar ...

12 Caribbean Cruise on the Norwegian Gem

We enjoyed getting away to the warmth of the Caribbean and overall enjoyed our cruise very much. Getting on the ship in New York was tedious since they were diligently checking all passports to see if people came from or traveled to the Corona Virus infected areas. It took over two hours to be processed and by that time the only area open for lunch was the buffet which my husband and I had ...

The itinerary and the place of embarkation. the ports we visited would of been nice to stay longer. I enjoyed the anytime djnner. My inside cabin steward was great. Always spoke and always used the first name to say hello. I think that I will cruise again out of New York and will cruise with Norwegian many more. The cruise was a great time to meet new people and a time to enjoy the cruise with ...

Fabulous trip

Our trip was fabulous. We love Norwegian. We prefer the mid size ships of about 2000 people. The elevators are never crowded and the garden cafe is smaller. We got lost so many times in the garden cafe on the Escape and the Breakaway. We also love to sit in the Spinnaker lounge and the bigger ships don’t have this large beautiful view at the top of the ship. It was sorely missed on the ...
