Final Day on the Breakaway... the Day from Hell

Review for Norwegian Breakaway to Caribbean - Eastern

We chose this cruise because it was 11 days. It fit the requirements of time to be on the ship and enjoy it, and many ports of call. The best of both worlds. Bars and lounges were lots of fun. Outside Maltings Bar and the Bliss Lounge were themost fun. Paul and Jerry at the otside bar were AWESOME. Buffets were varied and tasty. Specialty restaurants were varied but we were only wowed by the ...

A lot changed on this ship in the last year and a half

We took our first cruise a year and a half ago, on the Norwegian Breakaway. We enjoyed it so much that we returned to the same ship for a cruise to the Caribbean this October. Unfortunately, we found that a great deal had changed on the ship during that time. Here's the summary: 1. The ship allows smoking in its casino, which is located in the center of one of the main floors, with an open ...

Great Cruise - Disorganized Disembarkation

Choose the cruise because of the itinerary and the NYC departure. The cruise was really great, very relaxing and the food and staff were terrific. Cabin Stewart Nick on Deck nine was really efficient and friendly. Food in regular dining facilities were very good. A little more variety at some of the stations in the Café could be provided at lunch - little choice of Chinese or Indian, most ...

A nickel and diming cruise even if you are Platinum Latitudes Level

Because it sailed round trip NY to NY and I have Platinum Level Latitudes membership, I chose this cruise. Here’s how Platinum Latitudes Level benefitted me: I was invited to a reception where the hors d’ouvres were cheese and crackers, I received a bottle of sparkling wine and one bottle of water and one free bag of laundry. The laundry came back wrinkled and amateurishly folded. We did not use ...

Amazing Experiences in the Caribbean on the Breakaway

Recently, we enjoyed an 11-day cruise to various Caribbean islands traveling out of NYC. The staff was amazing, very friendly, and we shared a lot of laughs together. The entertainment offered, expecially the rock bands "Shanti LLeone and the Guilty Pleasures" and the "Tenors of Rock" were outstanding. We were able to enjoy performances every night of the cruise and still wanted more. Hoping ...

We wanted to go to a warm weather place. It was getting cold here in New York. We enjoyed all of the cruise except for one thing. The shore excursion. We booked to pet the stingrays. I could not walk in the sand all the way. Everyone was way too far ahead of me. So we did not get to pet the Stingrays. I was surprised because about 1 month later. We got a check in the mail for the shore ...

Service was just meh

I had high hopes for Norwegian. Probably wouldn't cruise with them again. I don't tend to be very picky or needy in my service needs but I felt like an inconvenience anytime I bothered anyone in the dining rooms. Hard to enjoy the experience because of that. Everything was an up charge. Even the use of their messenger which is free to use on other cruises. The 6th, 7th & 8th floor all reeked of ...

we were extremely impressed by the outstanding service and loved every minute we had on this magnificent ship..11 days, we saw beautiful islands..and yes we were diverted because I believe there were 2 medical emergencies but the crew handled the emergencies with such respect for human life that we felt so safe to be on a ship with such a caring attitude..The entertainment staff especially Benjel, ...

They choose to ignore the little details

I chose this cruise to go with friends and found it to be a big mistake. The ship is to large for me but that was not the problem. The food was good and the ship was clean and that was not the problem. The upper decks and facilities were closed for the entire trip so staff should not have been a problem. The problem is that overall service just leaves out the little things that make you ...
