Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

my husband and myself booked a suite on deck 11 for this cruise.everything from day one was unsatisfactory. our room safe would not function the coffee maker was broken, when it was replaced we were given another machine still containing the dregs of someone elses coffee!!!the overall look of the ship is rather jaded carpets in the public areas were torn and frayed carpets in our companions state ...

Not One of the Better Cruises We have Been On!

Do not know where to start but we found everything but the entertainment terrible! The free style dinning let us every night with poor service; long waits before coffee and dessert. We felt that the staff already knew they were getting paid so why bother? We were not giving the opportunity to not tip them as this is automatically placed on your account each day. The population was ...

NCL Hits a New Low

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

NCL has ever been our favorite cruise line but this time they have hit a new low. This was our third cruise on NCL and each one has gone down hill. We have booked them for the convenience of cruising out of New York and the deals we have been able to find. While NCL has a loyal following, I put them at the very bottom of my list. They do have some excellent entertainment but everything else ...

We sailed with NCL on Norwegian Jewel Jan 6 2013 to Jan 18 2013, and the following were some of our issues, observations and problems. Food. The food was far too salty, the Chimichuri on the steak on night 1 had to be scraped off it was that salty and would have rendered the steak inedible. Dessert was our only refuge from the salt. The Chinese restaurant also served its' food too salty, as did ...

Horrible Service, Great Destinations

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

This was my 8th cruise, my 5th with NCL-- every time on NCL has been great, if not consistent with the other-- until this time. I want to specify that my getting sick three days into the cruise (along with about half of the other passengers) did not affect my judgment or use of services at all. First, the good: The ship looked and felt very new and appeared to be maintained well. The free ...

First of all, I'm a cigar smoker, and it states on their site, "you can smoke in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge". Well, there is no smoking lounge and the Cigar Bar has been moved outside so if it's cold and/or windy, there's literally no place on the ship to enjoy a cigar in comfort. Next, my 3 year old son played with the kids in the Kids Clubhouse on-board day care for 2 days and ...

Norwegian Jewel DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

This was our first cruise and for my 50th birthday. Being a due diligence type of person I researched, called NCL and did everything I could do before hand to insure a great time. What I found is that NCL was dishonest on a quite a few things. I had read a few different stories on the pre authorization, credit hostage if you will when you board the ship. When I called NCL they said they only ...

This was my 11th cruise and though I was hesitant at first, I decided to just jump in and book a seven day cruise from New York City down to Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay then Nassau, Bahamas. To make it easy for those doing research, I will title each section: Booking-- I booked directly on the MCL website and a few days later I thought that I would go back into my profile and buy an ...

We took this Dec 10th cruise. Overall it's not bad if you have no/low expectation. Consider taking this cruise if you plan to just kick back and relax. They do have children activity areas (price included in cruise price, except for port days) where you could leave your kids and have some private time with your partners. Do not listen to the morons here who are suggesting leaving your kids at ...

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

As someone who has been on 12 Cruises (Carnival, Princess and Royal Caribbean) I can attest that NCL is the worst cruise experience. If you rode the Staten Island Ferry you would get a smoother ride, better food, and better service. My family and I just came off a 7 day cruise aboard the NCL Jewel. We were apprehensive to try the freestyle cruising because we traditional enjoy the same servers ...
