Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

We have just returned from our week long Bahamas cruise with NCL. The ship: Overall acceptable but lacked the wow factor in the centre of the ship. The atruim was lacking that photo opportunity. The rooms were ok, the bathroom was perfectly serviceable. Food was pretty good but the seats to people ratio is way off, by the time you have found your seat your food is not hot-please go at non rush ...

We drove to NYC on February 1st. For those looking to drive and not pay the outrageous port fees, we stayed at the Wyndham Garden in Newark, New Jersey. We chose the "stay & fly" package which was $155+tax and included 14 days FREE parking.... that's right, completely FREE! To get to Manhattan, we took the hotels free shuttle service to the airport, then took the NJ transit train into Penn station ...

This 12 daycruise to the Caribbean was just a way to get away from thewinter weather of the northeast. We are experience cruisers with some 35 cruises prior to this one with Cunard, Holland America and Celebrity and several with NCL. Since NCL was the only line with cruises out of downtown Manhattan we relectantly schose them for our winter get away. Unfortunately, the manhattan Cruise Terminal ...

"Location, location, location" was the inexorable lure for us to cruise on the Norwegian Jewel in late January. The idea of taking a taxi to embark only a few blocks from our Manhattan apartment, avoiding the hellish airport, and winding up on gorgeous Caribbean beaches was more than we could resist. Furthermore, Norwegian's promotion of "freestyle" cruising seemed attractive enough. We imagined ...

My wife and I decided to book this cruise (12/23) to get away during the holiday and just relax. It was out of NY so this was great since we don't like to fly.Embarkation was relatively easy. The folks at the checkin were business like and efficient. Rather than give you a long narrative of the cruise let me just hit the highs and lows for us. THE GOOD: THE CREW - We found the crew and ...

Bahama cruise disappointment

I've only done one cruise before this - Royal Caribbean to Bermuda and I absolutely loved it. My sister in law found a deal on this NCL cruise to Florida and the Bahamas and my girlfriend and I decided to join. What a mistake. The ship is old and run-down. Several areas had a musty, mildew smell. Our cabin bathroom had a funky smell (and all the toilets in our area stopped working one day). ...

Our cruise was the week after Sandy. Got to the cruise ok with NCL transportation. No power in the Cruise Harbour so it took a little longer but everything went smoothly. The first thing we noticed was the amount of KIDS there were. It seems that because of "sandy" & a 2 day teacher's convention everyone in New York & New Jersey with kids went on this cruise. we heard there were 700 or 800 kids. ...

This was a cruise I had planned to celebrate my 60th birthday with my sister. She was my guest and birthday gift to myself. We traveled with 4 of my girlfriends as well. One of the girlfriends was a first timer so everything seemed great to her but the other 5 of us had cruised several times and so we had something to compare this cruise to. I've cruised on NCL 2 other times and everything ...

Think Twice Before Booking an Owners Suite

We probably would have enjoyed the cruise more if we had not had not booked room 10004 (Owners Suite with the large balcony) from the beginning. We felt isolated from the Haven amenities and did not feel we received the same level of service as the Haven guests. If we had booked a lessor category and been upsold or upgraded this room we would have loved it. But, paying for this room made us ...

We are a couple in our late 20's/early 30's. We are not particularly hard to please and I think we're pretty good at being objective with our opinions. This was our second cruise, and the first one with NCL. Our previous cruise was with Royal Caribbean for a southern Caribbean cruise. Since these are the only two lines we have cruised with, you'll find a few comparisons between the ...
