The Great Outdoors. Has a nice size bar and buffet. Best of all, it's own soft-serve ice machine.

Great Ship

WE chose this cruise because it was a AAA group trip, they took care of everything for us, booking, transportation to and from the ship, it just made the trip a care free adventure. My only complaint was way to many kids for my liking, they were everywhere, running around the hallways, the buffet, the pool area, it seemed like the parents were nowhere to be found, but that's to be expected at ...

Embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth. The crew were very nice and the food was excellent. The size of the ship was perfect for us. We loved the spa. The shows were great also. Although I didn't care for the Garden Cafe my husband enjoyed it but I did like one crew member there named Mantombi Ndldvu who was such a sweet and happy lady she could make everyone happy too. In Florida we went ...

NYC 7 days cruise out of NYC. We take a car service so getting to the port was a non-issue. We did have to wait about 45 minutes for wheelchair service. That seemed a bit long. But it was necessary, so we waited. We where supposed to set sail at 3pm, but I would say we didn't leave until much closer to 5pm. I am unsure why there was a delay. There were 8 of us that traveled across 3 ...

The ship is nice a little small needs some updates. Disappointed in the shops on board very few. Crew and staff friendly and helpful but not a lot of crew walking around by the pool to get drinks like on other ships I have been on. Entertainment was good. Same food everyday at the barbecue. Buffet was chaotic hard to find seats. I would definitely telling everyone not to book the Disney ...

Canada and New England in early June.

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We picked this cruise because once in a while we want to go North, rather than South, and Norwegian is our favorite cruise line. We come from New York City and don't have to travel to board either of the NCL ships that call NYC home. Also the price for an inside cabin on this cruise was very reasonable. We made two stops in Canada: Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John, New Brunswick. Then we made two ...

Thought I would write about our experience as I found the cruise critic forum so useful when researching this cruise. Will try to keep it fairly brief with points good and bad. Embarkation was extremely smooth. We got to the dock at 10.15, no que, went through paperwork, waited about half an hour then on board by 11.30. Went straight to the Pacific dining room which was quiet and peaceful for ...

We had a great time on the Gem, with mostly all positives. Embarkation was quick and easy - arrived and parked at 10:00, was sitting in the waiting area by 10:30 and walking onto ship a little after 11. Went right to O'Sheehan's for lunch and by the time we were finished our cabins were ready. We had balcony rooms (2 adjoining) on the 11th deck and they were clean and plenty big enough. we had ...

We do enjoy NCL cruises (2-3/yr), yet there are always ways to improve service and value for our dollars. Here are my suggestions The ship is clean, altho the layout is one of those confusing ones - 6th deck dining rooms require a map to find them- and it's a different route for each. Entertainment was basic and good. Activities were abundant, and Ferdie Cruise Dir is very engaging and ...

I went on this cruise to relax and thats what I did. The service was geat and so was the food . The olny bad thing was when going through the embarkation we had about a 2 hour wair a d when we finally got on the ship we had to go right to the mustet drill and then wait another hour I’m diabetic and had no lunch and was not very happy about it. After tge drill it was a mass exit to the buffet ...
