First cruise, but wont be our last!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

This was our first cruise. We loved the size of the Norwegian Gem. Had easy access to everything. The mini-suite with balcony was perfect for four adults. Only issue with the cabin was the shower. The tub is very high and I have knee issues so difficult to get in and out. We loved our day at Great Strirrup Cay. Had heard mixed reviews but we found it to be our favorite stop. My husband and ...

Worst Cruise Ever!!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We took our son on a cruise to celebrate his 21st birthday and not knowing this would be our worst cruise ever! At the terminal in NY, we were greeted by an older woman that was so nasty and unfriendly! Check-in ok, new person training so it went a little slower, but ok with that. Sunday, we get a new travel plan for our cruise. The paper said that the Bahamas were having elections on the day ...

Avoid Norwegian at all costs.

We chose Norwegian because it was only one of two cruise lines that leave from Manhattan. We wanted a quick seven day get away and wanted to leave from Manhattan where we live. Problems started on day one before we even got under way when we boarded and the staterooms were not ready. We had to wait a few hours before we could go to our rooms and settle in. The food aboard the ship, with the ...

My wife and I recently returned from our very first cruise! It was a 7-Day Florida/Bahamas cruise aboard the Norwegian Gem departing from NYC. Not knowing what to expect, we decided to only do very little research in order to truly experience everything for the first time, I have to tell you our experience from embarkation to disembarkation was A+! Everything from first day to the last, from the ...

What is happening to NCL?

I received a phone call from NCL 3 days before the ship sailed offering me a cabin for a very good price especially because I sail alone and most times must pay for 2 people. The cabin was very comfortable for one person so I was happy. It was small for 2 people and if you are a little heavy you might have a lot of trouble in the bathroom. I also have to tell you that the food aboard this ...

I had a great experience 12 years ago with Norwegian Dawn when it first came out and thought things would be the same this time, I was wrong. I received horrible customer service, I was away from my family members, my cabin was unclean (when I arrived). I had to changed rooms twice(not enough beds to accommodate my family) due to poor communication from manager. The toilet in my room was ...

I had chosen this cruise on the advice of a family member. It was suppose to be a family vacation with my entire family. There were 18 of us. 2 days prior to the cruise I realized that my room had changed. My husband and I had booked 2 rooms side by side, 1 for us and the other for the kids. Because I had added my niece to my room, they had switched the room and never informed me, this ...

Norwegian now mugging it's passengers

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

I went on this cruise because it was convenient and a relative wanted to go. I've cruised on five lines about 20-30 times total. Norwegian has never been more than mediocre, but in the past was at least worth the cost. No longer, they've cheapened the experience. Why I will never travel on Norwegian again: last year they instituted a service charge of about $8 for room service; early this year ...

Norwegian Gem = FAIL

Never again. Let me state I'm a very fluid go-with-the-flow kind of person, late 40s. I like to have a good time and my sense of entitlement begins and ends with what I pay for; no more, no less. That being said: 1. Room was dirty on arrival and took 2 days to get it "cleaned." I took photos & video of the dust & dirt. 2. Much of the staff was rude and unwilling to perform the ...

The worst cruise I have ever taken!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

I chose this cruise because I heard many great reviews about how polite the staff is, relaxing cruise (just what we needed), and it was at the exact time I was able to take a vacation. The first day I was so excited to get onto the boat and I was even more excited for my fiancé because it would be his first cruise. He decided to buy the wifi package for $200 since he needed it for business calls. ...
