The Great Outdoors. Has a nice size bar and buffet. Best of all, it's own soft-serve ice machine.

Really Good but Not Great

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Food was exceptional although it bothers me that Lobster is not offered in Cagney’s or Teppanyyi. The boarding process and crowds was horrible. The finance department and the customer service desk don’t communicate well. I was held up at disembarkment due to a bill that I had already settled. The Getaway, Breakaway and escape we’re all more organized. I had lots of fun the comedian was phenomenal ...

My man and I have been talking for a few years about taking a cruise, so we finally starting looking into different cruise lines. I finally found Norwegian and got a good deal, so we booked it. It was a good time overall, the staff was amazing and provided great service to make sure we had an amazing vacation. We had the speciality dining package and enjoyed the restruants that were offered, they ...

We wanted to try sailing out of New York. We've sailed from New Orleans, Galveston, Tampa and three times from Miami. When I google mapped the route from LaGuardia and it said over an hour to go 10 miles, I couldn't believe it. But it took well over an hour on a shuttle/tour bus. Nice ride from the airport. After the cruse we took the 3 or 4 hour tour offered by Norwegian. Well worth it, we had ...

This was my first cruise as an adult. I took my significant other for a 30th birthday celebration. -I enjoyed the food at Cagney's, Le Bistro, Teppanyaki, and the MDR's a great deal. Service was impeccable too! O'Sheehans was a good late night option after the bars closed down; food was typical bar food, good but nothing fancy. Service can be slow at 2AM when EVERYONE is intoxicated and has ...

A Gem of a Party

We had been on the Gem before and like it as it is a relatively small ship with a lot happening. This time however there were too many children for our liking. We have no objection to well behaved children but these seemed to have no boundaries and the Garden Cafe looked more like a chimps tea party, there was food every where and parents just got up and left with their offspring still hanging ...

Been on this cruise a few times came back because of the convenience of this particular sailing. Pros: the ship itself is nice well maintained, the staff for the most part is great, the specialty dining is excellent, the ultimate beverage pkg was great, the regular dining ok , Cons: this is the second time i have been on this itinerary the Great Stirrup Cay stop was canceled (was looking forward ...

Good cruise, but they are pinching pennies

This was our 3rd ncl cruise. First on this ship. Overall the nicest ship we had been on and a good vacation, but there were some things we noticed them being more stringent on. 1. They used to offer lobster in the paid dining areas, this was no longer available. 2. Bingo has always been a scam, but they took it even further with higher costs and making it even harder to get a jackpot that I had ...

I normally cruise Royal Caribbean and I heard good things about Norwegian and wanted to try it sailing out of NYC. The port was easy to get in and out. The cruise was great had a good time except there were a lot of children on this cruise which made it hard to relax on the deck. I booked a mini suite to get some more room and this was a good choice, it even had a coffee machine and bath robes ...

Very Nice Cruise, But...

We kind of chose this particular cruise in a last minute. And I am glad we did. Food, service and activities were great. Only a couple of things bothered me a bit. 1- the pools on this ship were really not big enough for over 2000 passengers. Each time I wanted to just take a dip, people were just sitting along the side of this small pool, not letting others to just take a jump in and take ...
