Embarkation: Staff in NYC were friendly and efficient. We were in our room on the ship at 11AM (although the ship had been empty for 3 days). Booked a transatlantic fm NYC to Rome. The ship (Breakaway) is in need to major cleaning and updating. Food in complimentary restaurants, while plentiful, is bland and not usually very hot. Specialty restaurants a little better, but meals can take up to 3 hrs to complete. Even specialty menus are limited and not enticing. Spa - Paid $326 for Spa access which I always do on every NCL cruise. On this voyage the Spa was consistently overcrowded and noisy with loud conversations among guests who do not understand that the Spa is supposed to be a quiet place in which to relax, read, listed to audio books or music and nap. A relaxing and economical means of transportation to England and Ireland where we stayed for two weeks after the cruise.
