Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Crystal Serenity

This cruise was the most wonderful experience! I loved every minute of it. From the luxurious linen in our gorgeous suite to the five star meals we enjoyed, the world class entertainment and interesting lectures this was an experience to treasure. We also enjoyed the workout room, ballroom dancing, lovely library, golf lessons and our daily soak in the hot tub. The excursions were interesting as ...

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Insignia

The Oceania Insignia is well refurbished - tasteful and easy to get around on. She came back across the Atlantic through a tropical storm and our group of 8 people all felt safe. The ship was remarkably stable despite the 15 ft waves and 42 mph winds for 24 hours. Yes the cabin is smaller because its a smaller ship and the entertainment is not the same as big liners - however it is still good ...

Decided to try this line after many cruises on Norwegian and others. Stayed in a concierge veranda room on deck 7. The accommodations were so tight as to be uncomfortable. I am 5ft4 and 132 pounds and could barely shower in that tiny stall. Another passenger actually fell out of the shower and hit his head on the toilet and showed up at breakfast with stitches the next morning. The food ranged ...

Great ship disappointing excursions and poor response to dietary allergies

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

Chosen for its itinerary but the regent excursions were disappointing. Most were your buses with local people. Some really boring stuff and very touristy spots. Given this is east coast of canada I was astonished that there was nothing that showcased the stunning beauty of this coastline. No opportunity to see wildlife or see seabirds or whales. We organised two private tours. Regent found ...

I am an experienced cruiser of 30 years, 40 or so cruises, mostly Celebrity but also five on Crystal, Regent, Azamara, Cunard, MSC, NCL and Royal. I was in the Owner's Suite and traveling with my mom in the suite, sister in another suite. First Oceania cruise. First, the good. I love the R ships. The size is perfect. You feel like you are on a ship, and not in a hotel that happens to be at ...

QM2 Mixed review: Some deferred maintenance, poor food, but otherwise a delight

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Having recently completed a seven-day transatlantic voyage aboard the Queen Mary 2, our first Cunard experience post-pandemic pause and just after a couple of recent cruises on Holland America Line and Celebrity X, and we felt it useful to share a quick review. Our oceanic résumé is not devoid of experience with Cunard; we first sailed on the QE2 back in the early 1970s in tourist class and have ...

Finest Cuisine at Sea?

Oceania brands itself boldly with the claim "Finest Cuisine at Sea" but I did not feel this was the case. It's a shame, since Insignia is a beautiful ship, the crew was amazing, and there were lots of great things about this cruise. But given the premium price compared to strong brands like Holland America, Disney, Celebrity and others, it just wasn't a good value. And for dining, it was often not ...

Attentive waitstaff and room steward - disappointing Princess Grill room

My husband and I wanted to get away and relax after a very busy and medically challenging year. He had never been on Cunard before but I had and highly recommended it. We wanted to leave from NYC, unpack once, enjoy the crossing, the fjords of Norway, our one day in France and the return trip to NYC. To make this trip even more special, we selected a room on the Princess Grill level, a room we ...

By way of background, we are mid-60s with 35 cruises in 10.5 years. Celebrity is our benchmark. We had seen so many Vlogs about a Transatlantic voyage on the QM2 that, when a significant saving opportunity came up, we jumped on it. We booked an entry level Queen’s Grill Suite (Q5) and started to budget for it. The itinerary was NYC round trip with Norway and France added. Online check in ...

Sailing the QM2 was a bucket list dream. Unfortunately it wasn’t a dreamy experience. Firstly, embarkation was time consuming but easy. Our cabin was in remarkably good shape - no complaints there except the bathroom was dingy and needs an overhaul. Our cabin attendant though needs more training; we had a rattling noise start during our first night. We spoke to him about it the next day ...
