Absolutely fantastic transatlantic cruise from NYC to Southampton

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

This was a bucket list trip for us and we were not disappointed. We had a balcony cabin on the 8th deck and dined at the Kings Court buffet for breakfast, the Corinthia lounge for a light lunch and the main Britannia dining room at night. We had a smooth sailing and every day enjoyed doing some rounds of the promenade deck on 7 for some exercise. The guest lecturers were varied and very ...

Way better than expected

Ive completed nearly 20 cruises but wasn't sure how I would cope with 7 sea days as I was worried I would be bored. Needn't have worried as there was so much to do we couldn't fit it all in! Cabin was a balcony cabin. We booked a sheltered cabin on the advice of the cunard rep and it was great. Didn't use it that much (just to look out to sea and for whale / dolphin spotting) but we were ...

Fall Fools

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Insignia

My wife and I and two couples sailed on Insignia late October/November from New York to Montreal. A misnamed "Fall " cruise. Having arranged the cruise I boarded with some trepidation because of the imminent refit. However the condition of the ship was fine and we liked the rich colours of the décor (about to go pastel and bland) We had a verandah cabin which was reasonably spacious. The ...

A cruise of a life time as I thought , very disappointed, I saved so hard for this cruise put me off , I have read some reports I totally agree with there comments from other passengers , I feel cruise should have not taken place . Enjoyed New York , reason for going was to experience the fall in all its colours did not happen . Lack of information @ times !! Last 2 day before coming to end of ...

Fall Splendors - but not many!

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Insignia

We chose this cruise for the destinations along the Atlantic coast of the US and Canada and down the St Lawrence - New York to Montreal. We missed half of the scheduled ports of call: Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sidney and Sagueney. Other than Bar Harbor (too rough for the tenders), we have had no proper explanation from Oceania or the onboard staff. The Captain refused to meet the passengers and ...

Not the cruise advertised!

Firstly I'd like to note I have cruised over 25 times and have never written a review or written to a cruise company with a complaint. However this cruise did not deliver on many aspects of what was offered. This cruise was advertised as 'Falls Splendour'. Sadly it had no splendour and we didn't see any of the fantastic autumn colours which we expected in Canada in October. When the cruise ...

Near Mutiny On Board

We have just returned from the worst cruise experience ever. The atmosphere on board when the ship docked at Halifax was close to a mutiny. The Captain was being asked to explain why we had endured four days out of ten on the sea instead of one. Why the ship had arrived at Halifax at 22-00 ? My wife had to spend the day in the cabin due to the ship circling for most of the day feeling sick and ...

No Fall Wonder. Fall Danger Instead.

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on Insignia

We chose this NEWEngland/Canada cruise because of the Oceania reputation and the quieter atmosphere of a smaller ship. Oceanis surely scored very high in terms of their wonderful staff, excellent dining room, and delicious food. While some aspects of the Fall Wonder tour were great, none of the great things included the ship itself and certainly not the poor decision made by the Captain to cruise ...

Disappointing

We thought the ports seemed interesting however we were not able to go to 3 of them. The daily activities were lame. Since we had to spend so much time on the boat we were often bored. The food was about a B-,most of the time. Most of the crew was helpful. Overall, the cruise was disappointing. Because the weather was so bad, we feel this trip should not have been scheduled so late in ...
