Noordam - March 8 - 19 review Embarkation: Everything went very smooth. We arrived at the pier earlier than we expected (about 10 a.m.) and dropped the luggage at the front of the terminal. We are a family of 4 from Ontario, with 2 boys ages 4 and 10. In tow we picked up my Inlaws from Quebec in our minivan and drove down I-87 the day before. Stayed in Nanuet-Hampton Inn-about 40 minutes from NY pier. Hotel is brand new, but a little tricky to get in from the busy road. Had 2 snorkel vest delivered there and was waiting for me on arrival. Disembarkation: This was fairly easy. You get to the station you get a number and your number is called and you go through a check in process which only take approximately 45 minutes. You get you card and you are on the ship and ready for your vacation. We were not allowed in our rooms because we were on the ship around 1pm and the rooms were not ready yet. We flew Jet Blue from Portland, OR to New York, overnight. Their leg room and service is great, but the seats only go back about 2 inches, so we couldn't sleep a wink.
