Embarkation Shambles

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

It could have been so good, but the embarkation was the worse I have ever had to endure. Easy for me as I was not as old as some of the travellers who were made to stand for over 4 hours in the port whilst they embarked. No information, no water, shame on you MSC. Once aboard the ship all was good. The cabin beautifully adequate with good service from the attendant. Food was good and ...

We booked this trip one year ago on the MSC Seaside. When we booked there were various “packages” available. We choose Aurea experience which included the deluxe package which became the Premium drink package. During the year MSC changed their packaging but we didn’t change our booking. I give you this background so you can fully appreciate the misadventures we have had. The first issue was ...

This cruise was chosen for it's destination cities. Embarkation was a nightmare, it took 3 and 1/2 hours to board the ship. Early dining rushed, no coffee offered, once was offered a packet of instant coffee. One waiter for three tables total of 20 people. food in dining room cold, backed potatoes were cold and hard, salmon and chicken were dry, one tablespoon of sauce on chicken ...

My husband and I have been on about 22 cruises. We always look forward to each and every cruise. We understand the highs and lows of the various cruise lines. But the MSC Meraviglia had to be the worst! It started at embarkation in NY. We were going on a 10 nt round trip cruise to Canada in October, 2019. We were on line for 3 hours! Some were on line 4 or 5!!! No food. No drink. Nowhere ...

Disaster at sea

I have never prayed a cruise would end. Embarkation was a nightmare. MSC had not converted their computers from euros to dollars. This caused a delay that snowballed into hours of waiting. People were getting dehydrated. Elderly people forced to stand for hours. After 4 hours, I finally made it to the gangway. But visiting travel agents were blocking it with their tour. Shame on these ...

Beautiful Ship, Wonderful Crew but Last Cruise with MSC

The Canadian Maritime Province itinerary of this cruise and the thought of sailing on a new ship was appealing but the execution of all aspects of the pre-cruise experience, a nearly four hour wait during embarkation and general on-board disorganization have convinced me to refrain from sailing with MSC in the future. Having experienced the woeful lack of customer service when booking a previous ...

Took over 4 hours to get check in and almost as bad getting off the ship apox 2 hours. The ship itself was beautiful they did a very good job on the lay out, but they need more crew mates for this size of a ship.Food was so so needs a lot of improvement, the buffet was just most ship just OK nothing special.Had a inside cabin and it was the smallest inside cabin I ever had.,been on 18 ...

Not ready for NY

The new ship coming to NY was my reasoning for cruising on this line. From Embarkment to Debarkment was a disaster. Itinerary, food and shows were terrible. The ship was beautiful but boring and overcrowded. What a waste of money. After finally getting off the Msc and going home to change luggage I went on another cruise with a different line the next day that's what saved my vacation.MSC ...
