Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We sailed from New York on the Getaway on 12/16/23 with a two day stopover in Bermuda. This was the week of the winter storm where ports were closed and ships were being diverted to areas other than their planned itineraries. All ships except for the Getaway. Norwegian knew before we left New York that the port of Bermuda was closed. On a good day it’s difficult to dock but during a storm ...

Lovely, but not as special as I expected

Perhaps it is me, but as a seasoned cruiser who has been with many cruise lines, including the Carnival group, I had never been with Cunard. I just expected more than average, but I have had better service and better food on some other ships. We did a transatlantic 7 day crossing from NYC to Southampton with a sheltered balcony cabin on Deck 5. The bed was fabulous, the best I have had on a ...

Scones galore and happy were we

Scones with clotted cream EVERY SINGLE DAY!! And hands down the best ship's library ever (though I've only been on 5 ships in life so far). My husband and I did our first crossing from NYC to Southampton in October 2022, and we loved it enough to come back again. The first crossing in 2022 was even better in the entertainment realm--we joined the National Symphony (I think that was the name; their ...

Chose this cruise to get away for a bit and go someplace warm. This cruise is sandwiched in between an iceland cruise already sailed and an alaskan cruise for next year. Also wanted to see Bermuda as I have not been there. Even though our itinerary was reversed and we ended up missing the stop in Bermuda because of weather the overall experience was above average. The shows, live music, and food ...

We picked this thinking it would be a good adventure. NYC cruise port, problem long lines waiting, hard on elderly, when a women asked for a seat, quote you can sit on the floor. Staff delivered food , drinks, none for passengers. Shame Ncl cruise good food variety, nice theater shows very professional. Clean ship pleasant staff. Downside lines at every venue. No seats on deck,or towel taken. Try ...

Never again with NCL

We had to line up for hours outside the terminal in NYC in freezing temps, I saw an ambulance take away an elderly man who collapsed. The food in the main dining areas was sub-standard, we paid the excess to eat at the better quality restaurants, and there was a massive difference in quality. We booked a stateroom with a balcony when we arrived it wasn't cleaned, there was dust and human ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

I cruised with my husband; this was our 9th cruise with NCL and our 16th overall. We like leaving from NYC because we live in NJ and prefer not having to fly to disembarkation port. We chose this cruise because we haven’t been to the southern Caribbean and we were especially interested in a Panama Canal visit. Getting onto the ship from the Manhattan Cruise Port was delayed due to “Coast ...

14-n-cruise from New-York to New Orleans. Loved the itinerary and the value for money. Got a big deal including drink package, 3 specialty restaurants, 300 minutes internet and gratuities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was tasty, but unspectacular. Would I sail NCL again? No!!! In many aspects we had the impression that the ship was not ableto handle the number of guests it was ...

The comment from a dining room supervisor on our last morning sums up how Norwegian see their customers. “We need you to move on so we can get ready for the next batch of people”. It wasn’t even 9am and we hadn’t finished breakfast. We have previously sailed with Norwegian on two smaller ships (Spirit and Pearl) and thoroughly enjoyed it. After sailing on the Epic and now the Breakaway we will ...

Balcony in a poor state of repair and dirty Sofa bed which is required if you book a suite for 4 was dirty and not fit for purpose. No alternative available . Facilities for 2 only despite paying for 3 this included life jackets! 2 cups shower gel ect only in main bathroom. Promise of a butler to meet ...
