Just came back from a 2 day cruise to nowhere out of NYC on the beautiful Norwegian Gem. The ship was absolutely upscale and exceeded my expectations. This was my first cruise ever and I was very pleased with the ship and fantastic service Norwegian provided my and my 4 sisters on this cruise. We had a balcony room which was I would suggest having no more than 2 people per room comfortably. The ...

Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on Carnival Miracle

My boyfriend and I took a 2 night cruise to nowhere on the Carnival Miracle. We met on the same ship a year ago and thought it would be a fun idea to go back to where it all started! We were both nervous that it wouldn't be the same as a longer cruise (shows, amount of food, activities) and that we would be bored. Both of us are in our late 20's so it was important that we had things to do. ...

* Background Information: First-time Cruise. We wanted to see if this is something we would enjoy and we did! * Activities - As a first-time cruiser, the activities seem fine. The newsletter was very helpful in deciding what to do and where to go. * Service - was excellent and friendly! * Summary - The buffet had lots of delicious food to choose from and was excellent. We liked the idea ...

One Great Night to Celebrate

I am a yearly participant in the NCL GEM cruises to nowhere. This year I had the opportunity to bring two friends who have never cruised before, and one who has not cruised in almost 30 years. The CTNs/one nighters are not your typical cruise, especially in the winter. This year we were celebrating my one friend's 50th birthday. The day we were leaving, there was quite a big snow storm ...

2 day cruise to relaxation!

Booked this little two-day cruise-to-nowhere as a get away from the hustle 'n' bustle and it was just what the doctor ordered. It was me and another female friend getting away for the weekend. Our second 2-day cruise (first was a Carnival out of NYC back in 2005 or so.) We take the Metro from CT to Grand Central and then a $10 cab ride to the pier. Getting there is so easy in NYC - not my ...

Enjoyed the Dream

Upon arrival at the NYC terminal, we got through security and check-in quickly, then there was a long line to get onto the ship. Maybe 40 minutes from the time we got to the port to being onboard which isn't bad at all. It was a bit strange to board at deck Zero instead of into a beautiful atrium, but we got a ground view of the cove balcony cabins which looked cool from the outside. We ...

This was the third Carnival Miracle cruise to nowhere that we have been on out of NYC. We choose to do this cruise every year for numerous reasons but mostly to get away and have a great time. Carnival embarkation has improved 1000% as I got to the pier at 11:45 and was on the ship at noon. I used to wait 1-2 hours! The only complaint I had on this cruise is that the buffet food on deck 9 as we ...

Embarkation: A We left our home in Jersey City at 10:05 A.M. and took a commuter van to the Port Authority Bus Terminal from where we walked to the port. It was fairly easy since we only had one carry on and a backpack. We arrived at the port about 11:20 and immediately got into the Latitudes line. The line was about 10 minutes long. Some got out of the line and moved to the much shorter line ...

Enjoyed the 1-nighter on the Gem

This was our 8th cruise, 1st on Norwegian. Loved that this is a new ship. We had a balcony cabin. Bathroom had the best layout on a ship yet. Seems that the extra space in the bathroom cuts down on the bedroom space (one nighttable vs two on Princess). Love that there's a coffee maker (with coffee!) in the room. As with most cabins, shortage of outlets. Cabin was smaller than other ship cabins ...

1 night cruise...difference between cabin & suites

Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

I wrote a review of the spirit based on staying in a butler/concierge suite for an Eastern Caribbean itinerary. If you read that review you could see my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and that is why we booked the one night cruise on the spirit sailing on 10/11/08. The one night cruise was a fun little getaway however there was a huge difference between the two sailings. ...
