We had always wanted to go on a New England Cruise and we prefer 14 day cruises. The cruise was excellent. The Bar Harbor stop was cancelled due to rough seas. Food was the best I have had in over 20 cruises, with Royal Carribean, Carnival, and Holland America. Service was excellent. I only have a few minor criticisms. They did not have many games or card decks. Luckily we bring our own. I also ...
We flew from Australia to spend 2 weeks on this amazing cruise ship. Our itinerary included Boston, Portland, Bar Harbour, Charlottetown, Quebec (overnight), Sydney and Halifax in Nova Scotia.
We had a balcony room on the 7th Deck. It was amazing. Well appointed and very comfortable. The cabin staff were amazing and ensured that our room was will serviced and cleaned twice a day.
We ...
Celebrity Summit is an old ship which does not really meet the expectations of 21st Century passengers. According to other passengers and crew the ship is now some 15 years and if so apparently has never been properly refurbished. What was promised as a luxury vacation was far from that, we have been on more than a dozen other cruises with various lines and unfortunately this has been our worst ...
We have sailed with Celebrity many times and have always found the overall experience to be 5 star. This cruise however was the worse experience we have had in over 10 cruises. The ship was dated and looking tired and overall poorly managed. "systems not smiles" a well known saying in delivering good customer service. The front line staff always had a smile however the management systems on ship ...
We have cruised with Celebrity before and can say this was the worst ever. We have had three cruises this past summer and this cruise was the worst of the lot (the others were with Princess and Cunard). In brief - the cabin (inside) was a good size, properly furnished and everything worked; the entertainment in the theatre was of a high standard and the staff (with some exceptions) were ...
This was our second time on the Celebrity Summit to Bermuda. We had an excellent time. We enjoyed the thalassotherapy pool in the Solarium. However, we were not able to understand why some nights it closed earlier than other nights. We would have liked to see it stay open later at night so we could have enjoyed it after we went to the shows, etc...
The shows on this ship were all excellent. ...
A little late in getting this review out, but not a reflection on the outstanding trip we had on the Summit in June, 2016. A little about us…we love our vacations, and have been on smaller and mega-ships, balconies and suites, and throughout the Caribbean and Mexico areas. Out time on the Summit was, from the moment we drove into NJ to the moment we sadly got in our car to depart, by far, the best ...
We took our grandson on the celebrity summit to bermuda as his high school graduation present. We have sailed celebrity many times before and enjoyed it but, this was not true for this trip. The food was very good as we've had in the past but that was the only good thing. The cruise was extremely boring and the average age of cruiser's seemed to be 55 plus. The few younger people our grandson did ...
Admittedly it’s been a few years since my last cruise using the same cruise line, Celebrity Cruises, but things are apparently different now. I have heard that the Summit is used as a training vessel, and talking with staff this was their first cruise. Everyone has to start somewhere. However, there seemed to be a notable lack of coordination of simple services, like getting a cup of tea, and a ...
I have cruised numerous times, but this was my first Celebrity Cruise. What an overall disappointment. The ship is in need of an upgrade. The food was not very good, and neither was the food service. They advertize anytime dining, but whenever you tried to use it you could only be seated at 5:30 or 8:30. The pool area was packed like sardines, and the cabin was much smaller than comparable ships, ...
