We have never been on a cruise before as I thought we would be bored, I was so wrong. We had a wonderful time on the Carnival Splendour. The cabins are spotless and the staff were indeed splendid.

The entertainment was good and there was always something to do.

However, one very big downside was that the casino allowed smoking and it was horrible - my husband and I enjoyed spending most nights in the casino but the smell and the smoke was nauseating. I would suggest that rather than allow smoking in the casino they have a room alongside for people to pop in and have a cigarette.

All shore excursions were excellent.

All in all a good time was had by all.

Our First Cruise

Hi! I just came back from this 9 day 8 night Bahamas cruise!! I had a fantabulouos time on the splendid splendor!! I enjoyed the 4 sea days and the 24 hour pizza station. At night, when the big screen movie is on, (Lido) you can get FREE popcorn!! Isn't that great or what?! 

Bahamas was awesome as I joined the tour which was only $30/person (very cheap)! I do have a suggestion for you if you go join the splendid splendor- If you like taking pictures with the captain, go to the senior officers pictures as the captain might be there. How do I know? I learned it the hard way. I mean I'm just sayin, the captain might not be there but it's worth a try. 

I really love the way the insider cabin is designed. You might ask why... well it's because it is cheap and you can fall asleep fast because you don't know what time it is. There is no light from outside the ship. I am a very picky sleeper (it has to be DARK for me to sleep quickly.) 

The dining room located on deck 3 & 4 (depends on if you selected your time or timed dining) is very cool!! I really like the headwaiter Nyoman. Just so you know, on the tags it may say I and the persons name. The I just means me. So  like I Nyoman means I am Nyoman. On deck 7, there is a steward named Arisara. She is super nice because she always greets you and remembers your name. For example, when you see her in the morning she says "Good Morning Marcus!! Good morning Jack!!" something like that. She is always smiling!! 

Now, to the buffet. The variety of food is not much but the taste is excellent! The hallways and the elevators are designed really nicely. The theater is beautiful!! It is huge and can be located on deck 3, 4 and 5! Summary:  I had a great time and if you ever go, you will see what I mean!!

Carnival Splendor; Carnival Splendid!

A small group of five was extremely disappointed with Carnival.  The adage that you get what you pay for seems to be correct in our experience. We have traveled with RC, HA, and our favorite Norwegian. This cruise was our eighth. 

For ease of review I will differentiate our concerns:

1-	Infection control. No encouragement with the hand sanitizers. Especially as you enter the buffet area. Several dispensers were empty. 

2-	Food quality very poor. 

3-	Disorganization of crowd control: entering dining area, photo stations at least 10 on one deck level (casino), lobby held an activity which could not accommodate participants. 

4-	Disorganization of registration embarkation at Pier. 

5-	Lack of activities.

6-	Unruly children.

7-	One specialty restaurant. Décor was poor. 

8-	Smoking areas limited.

9-	Movies repetitive. 

10-	Evening entertainment was terrible. The cruise staff could not hold a note (stay in the shower) and the dancers looked as if they had lead weights on.  They specialty entertainer a Marcus Anthony was very good but performed only one night. 

11-	Comedy show. PG version terrible. Of the four three were alright. 

12-	Buffet food was always cold. 

I realize that my expectations on Carnival are based on my previous experience and too many subjective.  I will write that my stateroom was the largest of any line and the staff was excellent.

You Get What You Pay For

This trip was so relaxing. I traveled with my boyfriend. We started the trip by using Faster to Fun. This allowed us to embark as soon as we got to the pier at 11:00 am and to get into our cabin immediately. This was nice because we had brought the two bottles of wine that we were allowed to bring. It is always a pain carrying heavy items around as you wait to get into the cabin. 

We stayed in a spa balcony cabin on deck 11 near the spa. The room had a king bed, a couch and a pull down bed that we did not use as there were only the two of us. We stayed on the starboard side so that we could see the Statue of Liberty as we left the port from our balcony.  We ordered water ahead of time and it was delivered to our cabin shortly after we arrived. We asked the cabin steward to make room in the mini bar for it. She cleared out the refrigerator and we put our water in there. We took that water off the ship with us when we went to ports. 

The cabin stewards were exceptional. We had towel animals every night and the room was very clean. After we got into our cabin, we went to the buffet for lunch. The first day is a good day to try the wok and burrito bar as the lines are small as people are just settling in. Both the wok and burrito bar were delicious. The first night we ate at the steakhouse. We chose this night because you got a free bottle of wine. If you chose a wine that was not one of the free ones, you got it at 50% off. We chose this option as we only drink sweet wine.  We both ate the cowboy steaks. They were very good but huge. I could not finish mine. 

We typically ate in the dining room. We only did the buffet occasionally. We did lunch there the day of the chocolate buffet. The choolate covered fruit and donuts were really good. I loved the rotisserie and the deli on deck 10. There is also a quiet area in the Tandoor restaurant where you can eat inside.  I would highly recommend doing the seaday brunch. The porkchop and cheddar grits were outstanding. The steak and eggs were very good The nice thing about the brunch is that they will seat you together as a couple. The dinners in the main dining room are good. The lobster was tasty. They always serve this on the second night. I got the steak and asked for a side of lobster so that I could have surf and turf. Our waiters were great. They knew our names and drink orders and even our bread choices by the second night. I recommend all of the cold fruit soups, the warm chocolate melting cake and the pasta dishes. 

We loved the comedy nights. There were several comedy shows almost every night. There were R and PG comedians. We really enjoyed the Piano bar with Marty. Make sure you bring some ones to the piano bar. He will play your songs first if you tip him. The martini bar has a great bartender from Serbia, Maria. Ask her about her country, she is very knowledgable and a good storyteller. We did the martini tasting. The drinks were strong and amazing.  There were many trivia contests. There is not much down time if you don't want it. However, if you just want to relax, there are several places for a quiet time. There is the rocking chairs on deck 11. There is the serenity area for adults only sunbathing and there is the quiet area of the spa that is open to anyone. There are beds that look out onto the ocean and fruit infused water in this area. 

We stopped in Port Canaveral and did the shopping and beaches tour. I would not recommend this. You take a bus to a shuttle area where they take you to different shopping or the beach. They call it a hop on hop off shuttle but this is not accurate. When you hop on, they take you to Ron Jons where you have to wait an half an hour to go to the next place. I would recommond that you take a cab and just get where you want to go. 

In Nassau we took a cab to Breezes all inclusive resort. It was $80 for all you can eat and drink. There were several pools. The beach was beautiful. It included towels, non-motorized water sports and all of the activities. We met some really great people there. They make the drinks very strong. You can get to and from the ship by taking the number 10 bus for $1.25 but if you are like us, you will need to take a cab back as we drank too much. The cab was $15 and it brought us right to the port and was air conditioned. 

In Freeport, we did the new excursion, My Bahamian House a Select Retreat. They bussed us to a house on a canal in a residential area. There were only 24 of us. The bus on the way there did not have airconditioning. This was unfortunate as they left you waiting on the pier in the heat for a half hour before loading us up. It was a 15 minute ride to the house. When we got there, we were greated by the chef, bartender and hosts. The house in not air conditioned but it was not too hot as they had ceiling fans. Behind the house is a bay with clear water where you can swim, snorkle, kayak and stand up paddle board. There is a beach a block away. One of the hosts will take you to the beach if you want to go. They have rickety camp chairs that you can bring with you to sit at the beach. You will also need to bring your own towel. 

Behind the house where the bar and water area are, there is about 12 loungers in the shade. As there are 24 people on the excursion, the first 12 to the back of the house put all of their belongings on the loungers and then proceeded to the beach, how rude. One couple kindly gave up the loungers so that we could use them while they were gone. I swam in the canal and had a couple of drinks. The chef was amazing. She provided a conch ceviche that was one of the best things I tasted the whole trip. For lunch she made me coconut rice, a vegetable and chicken kabobs, For dessert there were banana fritters with a vanilla sauce. That meal was great. The staff were very nice. You can not get any drink you want however. They served mainly fruit drinks like bahama mamas and Goombay punch. The drinks were very good. They also had wine and beer. I did a similar excursion in Cozumel and thought it was much better. One of the main reasons was the length of the excursion which was 3 and a half hours which is short for the cost. The Mexico one was twice as long. The other issue was that it was not on the beach and there was not enough confortable seating for everyone. However, there are no crowds on this excursion and the food and drinks are good. 

I can't say enough about the spa. It had a thalossotherapy pool. Not too hot, not too cold, just right. It had jets that worked on  every sore spot on your body. After the pool, you can head to the steam rooms. There is a cold steam room, a dry hot room with heated ergonomic benches that feel great on your back, a menthol steam room that clears you sinuses and another wet steam room. In additon, there are rain showers that you can use in between steams. THe spa is never crowded and it is very relaxing. I loved it. 

Debarkation day would have been stress free except for Carnival's new policy of having to pick up your liquor at a bar in the morning instead of it being left in your stateroom as had been done previously. You wait in at least a half hour long line listening to people whine and complain. It was very stressful. We had breakfast and were one of the first people off the ship with Faster to Fun. We tipped a porter to help us with our bags. They got us through customs quickly and hailed us a cab. 

In all, I loved this trip. I probably will never be able to go back to a non-spa cabin but that's alright.

Spatastic cabin

Having traveled with Norwegian, Holland America, and Royal Caribbean I can honestly write of my disappointment with Carnival.  My disappointment on several fronts was so strong that I will not take this line again. I will explain: When my small group of five first arrived at the pier to register the excitement and anticipation of our eight days of fun and relaxation was joyful. This is where the first disappointment began. There were three register lines: 1 was for the “VIP” group which either paid extra of due to customer loyalty was able to “jump the line. The second was for the wheelchair handicapped. This was the start of our frustration and others on line. While there were three lines all passengers’ had to wait for one of their 15 clerks to open a window.  Our line began to fill quickly. The wheelchair handicapped line as well. Rather than alternate regular passengers with the handicapped, the facilitators let only the handicapped to proceed. Twenty five were allowed through by the time I reached my assigned registrar. I complained to no avail. The organization of registration was poorly run.

Once we reached our respective cabins I will write that we were all very surprised and delighted at the size of it. Of the lines that I we have sailed on this cabin was by far superior. Even the commode area, washbasin and shower were a delight. 

The service staff was exceptional. Stewards responsible for the cabin upkeep were friendly, and accommodating. Even through the gratuity was automatically added to the invoice I gave an extra amount upon leaving the ship.  This was also our feeling of the wait staff. We chose the free style dinning. Eat when we wanted to eat and not rely on the early or late structured time frame. Our waiter and his two assistants were so thoughtful that we decided to go each night when the restaurant opened to ensure that we received the same table and therefore the same wait staff. We also gave extra on our last evening meal.  

The meals themselves were not to our standards. They were plentiful but the quality was not acceptable. I realize that this may be a subjective viewpoint but compared to the other lines there was no comparison. The best meal by far was served at their only specialty restaurant which offered steak. 

The evening stage show was terrible. The two cruise singers could not sing, the dancers were out of step and looked like they just rehearsed. There was one headliner singer: Marcs Anthony.  He was very talented. 

The comedy club had four comics during the cruise.  They offered PG and adult shows. Each PG show was pretty bad. 

The cruise had a tremendous amount of unruly children. They were loud in the restaurant, running in the hallways, yelling in the hallways, and unconcerned with others in the family pool area. 

There are several pools: two adult, four whirlpools, slide, and general pool. 

The activities were limited. I believe, based on my experience of eight cruises, unusual for a cruise line.  They offered several rounds of trivia. However, the location was in the lobby with limited seating. Why not in an unused portion of the ship in one of their unoccupied club areas?  The movies offered were geared towards the children. Many nights only one movie was available with repeats during the cruise. 

At first my group thought that we were being too critical. Not until we spoke to three other passengers’ who shared that same opinion. In fact one passenger told us that their cabin, which was shared by her family of four, had NO AC for three nights! They were not given another cabin but took half off their price. Unbelievable! Of the cruise lines, Carnival is the least expensive. I guess the adage of “you get what you pay for” is accurate.

Disappointed

I've cruised multiple times on Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian cruise lines.  This sailing was my wedding cruise, so I traveled this same ship ten months earlier for the repositioning cruise in order to assess if we wanted to advocate for our guests to join us on the post-wedding voyage.  Had I not so recently sailed on the exact same ship, I wouldn't have had anything to compare it to and I likely would have rated it much higher.  We were a party of 12 close friends and family members sailing following a wedding that had 70 guests.  The sailing party spanned three generations.

Carnival is obviously very skilled at conducting weddings.  Everything they handled was well above my expectations.  They expertly processed my wedding guests quickly and got my groom and I onto the ship very fast.  They were able to accommodate personalization that I requested for the wedding cake.  Our stateroom had a lovely towel swan and flower petals on the bed when we boarded.  The social host at our wedding reception went above and beyond trying to find music for our reception when we were having technical issues with the CD's we had burned.  He also recognized us and always said hello throughout the cruise, even when we weren't dressed in our wedding finery and I wasn't coated in makeup.  

Once underway, We and our sailing guests all had different dining times and they were able to coordinate us all for the same dining, reserving us the captain's table every night except the last night, when I heard someone barged in and seated himself at our table, refusing to leave, just minutes before we arrived at dinner.  Our alternative wait staff on that final night was just as pleasant as our regular wait staff, although our regular waiter did stop by our table and Our waiter and cabin steward learned our names and I didn't have a bad interaction with any staff members.

Having the retractable roof over the pool deck was a huge benefit, since we found ourselves travelling through the remnants of Tropical Storm Erika at the beginning of our cruise and had a full day of rain and overcast skies at the end of our cruise.  The splash park for little ones was great for my almost two-year old daughter and my four year old nephew. The activities definitely pick up as the day gets later on the ship.  Since I woke up later this sailing than I have in the past, I didn't mind that.  We never won any trivia contests, but found ourselves competing in many of them and Carnival found a way to make them fun even when you weren't winning.  I usually don't enjoy the shows in the theater on Carnival ships because I find them hokey, forced and boring, but they actually had a very good Motown show that I did like.  The main entertainer for that show involved the audience, was funny, personable, and encouraged the audience to sing along.  

I love Carnival's seaday brunch and 3pm tea.  I hope they never eliminate these things.  I never understood why other lines close the dining room so early in the morning and force late risers who are trying to enjoy their vacation to eat breakfast in the buffet.  Also, since breakfast is later and there is always so much food on any cruise, I enjoy skipping lunch and then taking tea in the afternoon as an alternative to hold me over until dinner.  The other lines I've sailed don't offer tea and everyone in my sailing party looked forward to tea each sea day.  It really makes Carnival stand out.  However, service during tea always felt extremely rushed - with servers actually trying to take our plates away one day before we had even had food.  I appreciate fast service, but speed shouldn't come at the expense of courtesy.  The servers should work on coordination so that tables don't get skipped, because I heard other cruisers complaining about being skipped for various offerings as well.

Also, while I'm not a fan of the buffet, at least Carnival prepares many dishes to specification.  I did enjoy their personalized burritos and mongolian wok and had freshly prepared burgers, sandwiches and pizza occasionally throughout the cruise and was never disappointed.  I also enjoy Carnival's desserts more than the desserts on Norwegian and Royal Caribbean.  I feel that there is too much emphasis on gelatin-based desserts on the other lines, and that isn't something that I enjoy.  

I didn't select this voyage for it's itinerary.  We stopped at Port Canaveral, Nassau and Freeport.  Except for paying for a shuttle when in Florida, we didn't book any ship excursions.  I always find them to be overpriced - especially considering we stopped at such common ports.  We went to Cocoa Beach in Florida and walked around briefly in Nassau (everyone in our party has visited these ports many times).  Since our party was so large and it was hard to get everyone on the same page regarding excursions, we stayed close to the boat in Freeport.  Not many ships stop here, so I hope to have the opportunity to re-visit this port on a future cruise and see what the island has to offer. I spent several days here on vacation 15 years ago, but I would like to see how it has changed.  I found myself wishing that the tropical storm would force us to alter our itinerary, but that didn't happen.

We booked the premium vista balcony cabin.  Because we were travelling with such a large group and always seemed to have people in our room, it was very nice to have the extra balcony space and the views were phenomenal.

All that being said, there were things that I felt were missing on this cruise.  They didn't display all of the towel animals on the lido deck like they had ten months prior.  They also didn't have the bathrobe party on the lido deck.  I can understand why they would eliminate those things - I'm sure they made tons of extra laundry, but they added to the fun and uniqueness that I like about Carnival.  I also don't love that the chocolate buffet is displayed on the lido deck, but at least they still have a chocolate buffet.  They also feature a midnight Mexican buffet during one night of the trip.  I visited to take pictures, but refrained from eating since eating that late would have ruined my stomach for the rest of the trip.  It also would have been great if they had arranged for a couple meet & mingles for young adults.  My 20 year old son traveled with us and didn't have as much fun as past cruises since he wasn't able to figure out who on the sailing was in his age group.

Finally, I live locally so always wait to disembark until the very end.  I did so this time and was off the boat by 10:15 and didn't have to hunt for my luggage or wait on customs lines.  I suggest anyone who can wait should always do so, since it allows you to enjoy the ship longer and eliminates the stress of waiting on long lines, which can be so much worse when you have small children.

In Summary, I still have a special place in my heart for Carnival and the things that make them unique from the other lines.  I hope they don't lose all of those special touches over time, otherwise they eliminate my reason for sailing on them.

Wedding service excellent, but voyage just above average

My husband and I had great time on the Splendor and would not hesitate on booking another trip on this boat. Embarkation was a breeze and so was debarkation. Carnival does a great job considering there is over 3,000.00 people on board.The staff is very friendly, our waiter in the dining room greeted us by our names the  very first night. I have nothing bad to say about this cruise other than we should have stayed a little bit longer at the islands we visited.  

The food at the Lido deck was excellent, there were so many variety to please everyone wether you are a Vegetarian or a picky eater. If anyone was not not satisfy with the many choices they had they are just plain miserable people who finds any reason to complain. I've cruised on Royal Caribbean and I prefer Carnival hands down. I'm on vacation and want to be on a fun ship. The ship itself was in very good shape, the staff was constantly cleaning an I didn't see any dirty dishes on tables as some previous people reported. The decor is very pink but you get used to it after the first day.

The cruise director Kevin is hilarious, a very fun down to earth person. The shows were good especially the comedy shows which can get very crowded. There are 3 pools on this ship, the most crowded of course is the pool on the Lido deck which also has retractable roof in case of bad weather. They also show movies at night and provide free popcorn. There are people they hog the lounger chairs but I did see the staff come around and remove towels left on chairs if it's not occupied for a certain amount of time.. There were quiet areas with lounge chairs that you can relax , read or just fall asleep. It was an enjoyable cruise.. Can't wait to do it again

Wonderful Cruise

My family been on a number of Carnival cruises. My wife been on this boat before, but this is my first time on Spender. The whole family when this time. The Cruise was book solid. 

-The cabin was good, beds were nice, shower need to be better. I hate that fact they took away my electric cord I needed to charge my devices. Got it back at end of cruise. Otherwise the maid and room service was excellent and did their job great.  

-Other then the Casino and Spa and dining, everything else lack my interest.  

-I can't stand smoke, the Casino was a smoke stack and after short time I was coughing away at the bad air in there. That took the joy out of the casino. But I did come out a winner. 

-The Gym was excellent but with so many people on the boat and in the morning you could not find machine and too crowed. The Spa which I took the Pool and Stream rooms were not worth the value. Small pool for few people. 

 -Can't stand the overpriced art by Park West Gallery waste of money. Since I work in the field. 

-The prime steak house was excellent and worth every penny. The Dining room was confusing to get to and long lines and poor overwork staff did an excellent job. Food choose was good and did not get a bad meal. Buffet what could I say for any cruise it was Grand Central. Have to be careful what you pick up. If it cook or not or overcooked.  Ice cream machine was nice. 

-Shore excursion are a roll of the dice. Bahamas Grand Turk unless you go out when the boat dock you not going to get a seat anywhere. The shops are nice. But unless you do a Shore excursion or get drunk at Margaritaville, the beach was fine, water full or rocks and fish. Half Moon was a almost bad but by daughter did the kayaking and the guide did not do a good job and we complained. My wife also seriously hurt herself. We rented a cabana if you do get the once #5 thru 9 that put you near the bar and buffet area and restroom. My wife did not see the first step and did a 360 flip onto the stairs. The Medical staff came and later she when down to the medical for Xray and check up. Nothing was broken but she still in pain after that fall. The ship pick up the medical cost except for the beach call. That was nice of the ship staff and could been a trip ending thing. Nassau is Nassau been there so many times. Town is overcrowded and you better not for one minute let your guard down. The shore excursions are a better choose Atlantic is great for the kids. The Crystal and Atlantic Casino are world class. Shopping going to cost you, but if you know how to make deals you will get a good buy. Watch you don't get scam there. There a con on every street corner. 

-Activities on ship. there trivial, Bingo, talks, meetings, dancing and music and drinking. Typical on all cruise. Entertainment non existing moistly shows were by staff. Comedy is OK. Stuff for the kids. Forget the pool unless you want to fall over someone or get jump on. That typically of all cruises. But a lot room to sun yourself somewhere. 

-We had not problems with any of the staff. They were present and asking you if you need any help. But again expect them to pause at sit down dinning. 

-Disembarkation unless you like me roll your bags off. The porters do a good job on your bags to the dock. I would get off as soon as I could. I was out and through custom within 15-20 minutes getting off the boat and after picking up my car at the dock home within 30 minutes.

Good cruise that almost turned bad.

Just got off the SPLENDOR and had a fantastic time!!!! 8 days of pure enjoyment was had by my wife, daughter, son, and 6 yr old Granddaughter!!!! The boat was amazing as I was a little worried at some prior reviews stating the boat was dirty and dingy, that was not the case. There were so many workers cleaning all decks from sun up to sun down. Yes the decor can use a facelift, but after the 1st day who cares!!!!

Service was second to none, as all bartenders could not serve you any quicker, and the waiters who brought you your drinks on deck could not of be any nicer!!!! We ate at the Black Pearl Restaurant-2nd seating and was taken care of by our wait staff like we owned the ship!!! The food was great and they kept bringing out any dish you desired!!!! 

The shows at night were entertaining, people have to remember this is not Broadway or Vegas!!!! Greg who played an Acoustic show nightly was great, but the casino band was the BEST cover band I have ever heard!!!!!

Disembarkation was smooth but you need patience to be get your luggage off the boat, my advise is to have the Self Assist option as you will get off right away!!

All in all it was a fantastic trip and this being my 2nd Carnival Cruise, will not be my last!!!

Can't go wrong with the Splendor!!!!

This is my 3rd cruise. This is the first time I cruised with children and that is why we chose this particular cruise. There is plenty of things for kids to do.  Teen clubs, Camp Carnival for the little ones, an arcade and some cat in the hat festivities.  The kids were plenty happy. Except my little one went to Camp Carnival one day and was not interested in going back.  The camp gives you a cell phone that you can keep for the duration of the cruise so when your child is in camp, they can call you if there are any issues. You must return it the last day or will be charged $150. I was very pleased about the phone. They do not take children under 6 to the pool which I was also very comfortable with. My only complaint with the kid portion is, one night there were a group of teenagers near the arcade and they were getting into a fight. Slapping each other, etc. It was getting increasingly heated as I waited for my teen daughter to come out of the arcade.  The most shocking was a security person walked right through the fight and did nothing about it.  There was no way he missed it. That made me feel that security on the boat made need to be revamped. 

If you do not have children with you, I do not recommend this cruise.  There was never enough seating at the pools. The pools are also small. They say that they put timer cards on lounges that look like they are being saved, but I never saw one sign on a chair. I often had to sit in a chair at a table, in the shade to be near my kids swimming since all chairs were used or being saved for hours.

It is very hard to get from the AFT to FWD on the boat.  Only 2 floors go all the way through. Often, you have to go up to go down, or visa versa.  It took a few days to remember how to go to get from one end of the boat to the other without frustration.

Many of the restaurants advertised are actually areas in the buffet or a small kitchen at the pool area. They are not actual sit down restaurants.  We never did find the "make your own pizza" we asked several staff members and no one knew. It ended up being something they do in Camp Carnival one day.

There is only one electrical outlet in the cabin. Made it hard having to share charging devices between multiple people.

The casino has a Random shuffler machine while Black Jack is in play.  I know that could be considered a big deal to a few players & it was.

You can easily keep track of your charges daily. They will charge you $95/person for gratuity half way through.  We had 4 people (2 adults & 2 children), tipped everyone well (as it was seen on our daily charges) so we asked to have one of the $95 removed. Which they did with no problem.

Debarking at all destinations were very easy but when docked at a port (San Juan for instance) yes we got there on time 3:30, but were not cleared to get off the boat for 45 minutes and you have to be back to the boat at least 1/2 hr to an hour before the boat is due to leave. So, you do get less time at these ports than what appears at first glance.

The food is mediocre, a few things are open 24 hours. They do not serve soda at the buffet. You would have to get one at a bar first & be charged if you do not have the drink card.  They only have water, lemonade, icea tea, coffee and teas at the buffet area. The steakhouse is very very good but it is not included and is a $35/person extra fee.

Grand Turks port is fun and lots of shopping.  The water is very rocky and can be challenging. I do recommend water shoes. Margarittaville, is expensive, not very quick service. For an appetizer, 4 drinks and 2 bottles of water was $80. It is very loud too in case you are looking for something romantic.

On to good things. The boat is clean. The public bathrooms are kept very well. You would be hard pressed to see a dirty dish or empty glass left anywhere. The staff is great. The bartenders are attentive and quick. The Stewards know your name the first day and awesome.  We had no issues with anyone that works on the boat (except for the "security" who did nothing about the fight we witnessed). The cruise director Malcom & Alison, Activity director Gary and the comedy manager Reanna were all super great. All the way to the moment we were getting off the boat back in NY.   They truly made the cruise special and fun.

Ultimately, if I was cruising again with children, I would cruise this boat again.  If cruising with my husband or adults only...I would not. They do have a section of the boat that is kid free. But it is small and crowded as you can imagine.
