It was a dark and dreary day in New York City. We were very disappointed with the weather. As we arrived at the pier, we couldn't help but marvel at the size of the Dream. Could this really be our ship for the next 8 days? George and I dropped our luggage off with the porters, and then went inside to the cruise terminal. As usual, embarkation was a breeze. We were on the ship no later than 12:45 ...
This was our first time on Carnival, as we always cruise on RCI. We decided to try Carnival because it was a new ship and sailing from NYC. There were four of us traveling together in two cabins. My GF and I and two female friends of ours. We are all in our late fifties to early sixties. We live in South Jersey and hired a private car to take us to the terminal. We left at 10:00am and arrived at ...
Just returned from our 7th cruise, on the Carnival Dream, the largest in the Carnival fleet, sailing out of New York. Don't expect the Dream to return to New York anytime soon, as it appears it's doing most of its sailing out of Port Canaveral.
Embarkation went very well. The wife & I arrived at the docks around 2pm, and within half an hour we were on the ship, which was a pleasant surprise. ...
To start off...embarkment went very smoothly. I went directly to the counter and got my sail and sign card....then you had to wait for your zone to be called, which took less than 10 minutes. My first impression of the ship is that it is very colorful. I did get dizzy when i first got on the ship and so did my step mom, but once we boarded and walked around a while, we were ok. We headed to the ...
this cruise was the worst i have ever gone on . If this is there newest and best ship i do not want to see the older and smaller cruise ships I do 2 cruises every year ! to start the food disgusting ! The same repeat food items every meal and what we did get was poor quality , the service what service did not exist , the ship was always dirty tables at lunch still full of empty trays full of ...
This was my 10th cruise (3 with RCCL and 7 with Carnival). It was my fiance and I, however, we had other friends that were on the Dream as well. This was by far the BEST CRUISE we have had! Don't get me wrong, there are a few things that need to be worked out, however, what vacation doesn't have something that can be improved. I will do my review in sections.
EMBARKATION/DEBARKATION: ...
The Carnival Dream was a beautiful ship!
Embarkation: I don't remember every detail (saying it was a long time ago) but we live in New Jersey and took the hour/ hour and a half drive to New York instead of flying to Florida. It was smooth, and then we got in line, and then parked our car. Next, we took a big elevator down, and then it was perfect through security and onto the ship we ...
We were on the Carnival Dream for the November 23 - December 1, 2009 sailing and we had a great time. I have seen a lot of negatives about the ship, but for us this was our first cruise. We had no other cruises to compare it with and we loved it - it has changed us from "resort" vacationers to cruise vacationers and we can't wait for our next one. My review is mostly positive - a few negatives ...
embarkation-we took this cruise to sample the ship and not for the ports as we have not sailed on Carnival in quite some time. We have sailed on her affiliate ships and we wanted to see how the line has improved. Being from Long Island we had very easy boarding not having to fly. We arrived at the terminal by limo at 10:30 and we were onboard the ship by 11:15. Others had bigger wait times and ...
After waiting enthusiastically for months to take our Carnival Dream cruise, we embarked from Manhattan, New York for what we believed to be 8 glorious days aboard Carnival's newest, largest, most highly anticipated cruise ship, The Dream. The embarkation went smoothly enough. It took about an hour to get onto the ship. Because the cabins were not available, cruise guest were directed to the Lido ...
