We travelled from the UK and stayed in the Sheraton Brooklyn the night prior. This is a great hotel if in a somewhat run down area. We caught a taxi from right outside the hotel to the Brooklyn Cruise Port at a cost of $26.00We arrived around 12.45 ,checked in within a few minutes are were able to baord the ship and go directly to our cabin which was a bonus!Cabin was a good size with a large ...

My husband and I have sailed many, many times, but have never sailed on Royal Caribbean. We were interested in sailing out of New York and the ports were not that important for this trip. I have to say that I agree with almost everything that was said in the review by krismis176. I did find the cabin to be very comfortable and I had the same cabin steward, Jovito, who was wonderful. Our tub ...

5th Princess Cruise a Disappointing One

I recently sailed with my family on July 11, 2010 on the Caribbean Princess to the Caribbean sailing from Brooklyn. This was my fifth cruise on Princess and my ninth cruise in total. The issues I experienced centered on climate, food, and service. Climate: Due to what I believe is a design flaw, areas of the ship were either too hot or too cold. This made the women within my party continuously ...

My in-laws, my husband and me recently cruised aboard the Caribbean Princess. For my husband and me, this was our third cruise in the past two years; for my in-laws, it was their fourth. Having sailed on Sapphire Princess out of Los Angeles for all of our previous cruises, we felt we knew what to expect and were excited about experiencing this new adventure on the Caribbean Princess - which is ...

We sailed the 10/24 repositioning cruise out of New York to San Juan. Living in New Jersey, the embarking was very easy. No flights to worry about, just a cab. The port of Brooklyn is fantastic. They really have the system down very well. We were on the ship within 30 minutes. Our Jr.suite cabin was ready when we arrived, so we went there and dropped our carry-ons, then proceeded to the buffet ...

To be candid, this was our 12th cruise & the first time on Princess Cruise Lines. Prior cruises were 9 times on Holland America Lines, with one each on Celebrity & NCL. We are so pleased with HAL, that we have only sailed with others purely out of convenience, that being a round trip sailing from NYC, eliminating flying to and from the ship. Sadly, each time we sail non-HAL we are disappointed ...

It was our first experience of a Princess cruise having previously cruised with NCL and Cunard and unfortunately we were severely let down.  As it was our 12th wedding anniversary and we decided to celebrate in style and book the deluxe renewal of vows package through our travel agent.  In the run up to the cruise we spent many hours planning what we should wear and we both bought new attire ...

Well after years of looking forward to my first cruise I finally got to go. We left Texas early in the morning and flew to LGA in NYC, and we booked a limo service to pick us up in a town car and that was the greatest start to it all.  We arrived at the terminal at about 1 and got our luggage checked in very easily and each station getting on the ship was timely and easy, but then again I was ...

Caribbean Princess 6-2-09This was our 15th cruise, 7th on Princess and our third on the Caribbean Princess.  The ship is showing its age even though it is only 5 years old, more on that later. Embarkation in Brooklyn NY.  Excellent port to sail out of.  We drove to the terminal, dropped off my wife and the luggage and parked the car less than 50' from the entry. We had express check-in and were ...

I traveled with my husband and two sons ages 9 & 13 on the August 6 sailing of the CB. We had 2 cabins on the Emerald deck. The Great and Good: - Our obstructed view cabins. We booked the obstructed views when Princess was having a special offering these for the price of an inside. Based on the ship diagram I had assumed we would have a wall of orange life boat entirely blocking our window. ...
