Let me start by saying that this was my second cruise ever, so I only have one other ship to compare to: the Carnival Sunshine. All in all, I had a good time since I was on vacation, had a fairly decent time on the ship and enjoyed the three ports of call. Unlike other reviews, I didn't have any "Nightmares" or "Disasters". However, the ship has a long way to go.
So first, the good parts. The ...
We have travelled many times with Regent, we have been on all their ships except for Grandeur. We picked this trip for the itinerary alone and were a little apprehensive having more recently sailed on Splendor and Explorer, that Navigator would seem too small now and a little lacking without the fabulous Pacific Rim or the French restaurant. We need not have worried.
What Navigator might lack ...
We were supposed to be on Magic but they transferred us to Venezia. Was worried at first that they moved us from the 11th floor to the 1st, but having a window and seeing the ocean right outside our room was great. Had a family suite with 2 bathrooms (1 with a toilet, the other with a tub). Was very excited that this was going to be an Italian style cruise -- I love chicken parm and Magic had ...
Just got back from an 8 day eastern Caribbean cruise on this ship. After about a 2.5 hour wait in line to get on the boat, we waited another 50 minutes for an elevator to take us to our floor. If we didn’t have heavy luggage I would gladly have taken the stairs up 6 flights instead of waiting. It was so bad we saw multiple families carrying their babies in strollers up the stairs. This would be ...
My husband and I just cruised this weekend for his Father's Day gift, The boat is insignificant compared to most we have cruised on, so it made very crowded. I see more staff standing around talking to each other instead of taking care of the needs of the boat and guest. With no big food selections, we felt as though ate the same thing every day and the menu was like the restaurant you paid to ...
I just got off this cruise today and what a doozy. This was my first Carnival cruise, and officially my last. The ship was WAY too small for the number of passengers (4280). To begin, we arrived at the NYC Port and there was no one properly directing you to baggage drop off/the line to check in. People were NOT pleased. People in line for over an hour were told to get out and get back in line. ...
I chose this cruise because it was in my budget despite its very elegant look. I would sail on her again. The shows were excellent. I only went to the main theater shows and they were always sold out. If your sailing solo they have daily solo gatherings in the pub at 5pm and one day they also have a hosted meet and greet for solo travelers. The food in the mdr was very good and they will ...
I have sailed on the Holmes Line (SS Oceanic), NCL, Holland America, Carnival, Celebrity, RCI, Princess Line, and I was looking for a classic Italian Cruise Line in MSC. I read previous Cruise Critic reviews from prior passengers in Florida and was a little nervous about this trip. I have to say some of their reviews were too harsh and unfair, this cruise was the first voyage for MSC, out of NYC ...
We have cruised on other lines before, and this was our first experience on NCL. We are now huge fans! First of all, I loved the Gem - the ship is perfectly sized for me. It was easy to get around, and there were lots of areas to sit and hang out with a book and a drink. My favorite was the Spinnaker Lounge early in the morning with a book and a cup of coffee (you can get coffee right around the ...
We are a couple in their mid-fifties and had abandon NCL for 7 years after a series of decline of experience with them. We chose to come back because of a need for departure from NY. The itinerary was 10 days Bermudas, Bahamas and Port Canaveral. We couldn't go to GSC because of very strong winds. That is ok because safety is the priority ans I totally respect that.
The good part: food had ...
