INTRODUCTION: I am 76 years old and my wife is 73. She is still able to use fitness machines and walk considerable distances while I am limited in physical activities and always walk with a cane. That being said, our main enjoyment on a cruise comes from the availability of fine dining, musical and other “passive” entertainment and use of the pool facilities.
We also enjoy touring places that ...
We chose this cruise as we had been on trips last year on both Cunard and NCL and wanted to try something different. Overall, the ship was lovely, but the quality of the food left a lot to be desired.
The Anthem is a great ship if you want to be entertained. There is lots to do and the shows we saw were all amazing. We also did the escape room, bumber cars and i-fly activities, which you can ...
Our friends have been on this ship twice before and suggested that we book it with them. The ship was beautiful. We especially loved the Solarium, the staff was wonderful, but as I mentioned two things need to change:
Casino: It should be completely nonsmoking. There was so much smoking going on, you couldn't breathe. And the crazy part is, that the staff informed us that when this ship is in ...
This marked our 50th cruise, many of which have been with Royal Caribbean. We went with a group of 20 people, 12 of whom were country line dancers. We left from Bayonne very excited to be going to the warm Caribbean. Embarkation went pretty smoothly except we had to go looking for our luggage down the hall and found someone else's luggage outside our stateroom. This was a first for us. Our ...
A large group of 18 people cruised to the Carrib5. Ma y of us were experienced cruisers and have done the same crusie in the past. Many cha ges occured. The menu in My time Dining was repeated throughout the trip. In past, you could make substitutions. If it wasn't in the menu, there was no negotiating. The food in the Windjammer was far better.
The entertainers were great and I appreciate ...
This was our 2nd Royal Caribbean cruise. We've also been on NCL, Carnival, Celebrity, and MSC. The experience was ok, but compared to NCL and even Carnival, I wasn't impressed.
The Good:
1. Most of the staff were very good. The MDR staff were especially good. Our waiter, Naresh, was attentive and paid close attention to my wife's gluten free requirement. She didn't get sick at all in ...
It was 11 nights, we usually enjoy time on the Ship and it was a good price. When we got off the plane, it was 27 and snowing. The next morning it was still snowing, it cost $65.00 to go 12 miles to the Ship. For the first 4 days, it was cold on the ship, once down in the Caribean, it was Great! On the return trip, we ran back into the cold, and that was when a Nor-Easter hit New York. The ...
(a) Excellently appointed ship.
(b) Good itinerary. Suggest substituting CoCo Cay for San Juan.
(c) Our balcony cabin assignment change WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE was disturbing. Frequent engine vibrations & high noise level in reassigned cabin. Sleeping Challenge. Reassigned cabin was too far from elevators - for walking challenge cruiser. Allegedly, our selected cabin was reassigned ...
We took this cruise because we wanted to leave out of the New York area and having sailed on the Anthem several years earlier we would do it again. What a difference in the dining experience. We had the anytime dining and since we reserved the times getting a table went fairly smoothly. The wait staff on the most part was friendly. The food was far below what it had been on prior cruise with ...
Let me begin by saying we had a very good time on our cruise and there were may outstanding and memorable experiences on this cruise. The "problems" I will note in this review are most definitely "First World Problems" and even the world "problem" may be too extreme. And yet, for the price paid ($12,769.30 for two people), I feel there was a justifiable expectation of excellence.
Our previous ...
