Disappointing dinner seating

As a solo traveler I was not seated with appropriate companions at my dinner seating. The first time I was seated with a family of 6 who did not speak English. Upon requesting a change of seating I was put at a table for 10 BY MYSELF. The solo lunch gathering was a bust as only two others showed up and there were some problems there I'm not going to get into. The ship and the cabin were ...

Booked this cruise for the Itinerary and travelling with friends. Excellent service in all venues Good food at both dining room and the Windjammer. The best show was by the group Rookies... excellent 2 shows... Actually I wish they had had a third show. The weather co-operated ....nice and rather warm. Nice to have spent overnight in Quebec city ...we came to the ship in late ...

I travelled solo on this cruise from Bayonne to Quebec. Embarkation was easy and the room was ready by the time I got on board. Ship and room are showing their age and have a slightly shabby vibe to them. I had made reservations for My Time Dining prior to the trip. The first night it was slightly chaotic and I had to say something after being ignored for over 15 minutes and service being ...

Cruising is not what it once was

I choose this cruise for the potential of seeing great fall foliage colors. October 1 was a little early for the fall foliage this year. The October 11 cruise will be much better as the last couple days the leaves started to change color. The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. I was on board within 45 minutes of my arrival at the pier. On disembarkation, the luggage was laid ...

The food in the windjammer was vile . The my time restaurant , the food was either bland, or a salt lick. The entertainment , with the exception of a group called Rookie, was boring. The internet service was spotty and slow. They tried to upsell from the moment you got on the ship, to the moment you got off. The only news on the TV is CNN, why isn't FOX available? On a so called flag night, where ...

Time in the various ports was too short

We choose this particular cruise because we were hoping to see the vibrant colors on the trees on the ports we were to visit. Unfortunately we may have been a week or ten days too early. One never knows. We picked the Vision of the Seas because we had the experience of sailing on her during a 12 day British Isle cruise. It is a comfortable ship, just the right size. Before the cruise we ...

Port intensive cruise on a great older ship

This trip was all about cruising with great friends who had already booked this cruise 8 months ago. The itinerary was the key. It was very port intensive with only two sea days which means we were on the go and came home tired. But it was a lovely way to see New England and Canada while there was still great weather. Many wondered about the changing seasons, and I'd have to say the leaves were ...

We were impressed with the choice of excursions offered on their Canadian Cruise, and the housekeeping and main dining room service. We also thought the Cruise Director did an outstanding job providing entertainment. The food was good, and our servers in the Main DIning Room were fantastic. I thought the breakfast, however, was better in the Windjammer. The ship itself was lovely, and ...

Embarkation: It is possible to walk to Cape Liberty cruise port from the closest NJ Hudson-Bergen light rail stop, however people will look at you like you’re crazy and you had better not have too much luggage as the footpath suddenly ends halfway and for the last kilometre or so you are stuck on the narrow shoulder of the same busy road that taxis carrying passengers and trucks servicing the ...

Great Cruise to Canada

We had this trip planned for over a year and then Harvey struck. You see we live in Rockport Tx. We had evacuated to a city about 180 miles north. We went home the Thursday after the storm and found we had a small hole in the roof. Lots of trees were down and we had no power, water and other services. So we decided to go anyway. We left on Sept 3 from San Antonio and stayed in Midtown ...
