My husband and I sailed on the Explorer of the Seas on the November 23, 2013 sailing from Bayonne to Labadee, Samana, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. The itinerary also had four sea days which were really nice.
We stayed in Owners Suite 1600, which was a great location. I added a more detailed room review with a link to photos separately.
The ship is in great condition given her age - if you look ...
While this was the 1st time leaving out of New Jersey and traveling with a friend this is not my 1st cruise with Royal Caribean.
Pros- Berumda is one of the friendliest Islands, up there with Dominica.. beautiful can't wait to go back and spend more than 3 days there. The Royal Caribbean stuff as always WONDERFUL, helpful, funny, just a complete pleasure to be with. Enjoyed the entainment at the ...
Ship: Was clean and well maintained. The new soda vending machines with over 100 choices was very neat and convenient. It was really neat to have a small shopping mall right on the ship with bars/pubs mixed in throughout. The wife could shop and I could grab a drink.
Activities/Entertainment: We always enjoy the shows that are offered, And for the first time we saw the Ice Skating show WOW!! This ...
We sailed the Allure around the same time last year. We feared that we may be a bit disappointed in the Explorer coming off such a big, newer ship like the Allure but for those of you have wondered the same thing, we were not disappointed at all.
Embarkation - A breeze
Rooms connecting balcony rooms on starboard side deck 10 aft. A little disappointed that the balconies did not connect, but I ...
After 11 cruises (Carnival-never again, Holland America, and Princess) this being our 4th Royal Caribbean (RCI) cruise I thought I would start reviewing them and help others have a trip of a lifetime. I still prefer RCI over any of the other 4 brands I've been on by far and planning to stick to RCI for future cruises. The value, service, boat features, food and entertainment are second to none for ...
I was a little concerned about by trip. I had read many negative posts. Not to belittle what others said, I had a wonderful time. The only negative is the age of the ship. She is 15 years old and is due for an upgrade. Other than that it was great.
The food was good. The Windjammer was the best I have had in the fleet. They do a custom made mongolian grill and custom pizza that was ...
My DW and I are just off the Explorer. Let me start by saying we had an excellent time. It was an alone time cruise. We often cruise with family and friends but it was just the two of us.
Port Liberty. A breeze. In and out in minutes. No hassles. Friendly port folks.
The ship. We were on the same ship five years ago, and I thought the problems we encountered were ship related. We had the ...
For our anniversary and my birthday we selected a grand suite on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas. First the suite was NOT grand it was filthy - stains on the sofa and the chair, stains on the coverlet and sheets. The toilet had urine streaks down the front, the bathtub had multiple soap scum runs down the sides. For 3 days we found more issues. The first day we asked for the room to be ...
We hadn't sailed on RCCL in a while, choosing Celebrity or Azamara instead. But since they honor each other's tiers, we decided on a Bermuda cruise from Cape Liberty on RCCL so that it would be more convenient for my brother and his girlfriend who would be cruising with us. Their first cruise ever, and they were so excited. We spent the entire cruise apologizing and telling them how "it used to ...
