Disappointed

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Very disappointed, why 5 watch shops, ship not pretty as other royal ships, no good shows/entertainment, paying customers very rude, I will try different cruise line next year. Staff friendly. All shops same thing. Not enough of different things to drink. People in customs even rude. Nice and organized debarking. Casino very small and if you like quick hit games then that’s the casino for you. ...

Probably my last with RCCL

I would really like to give 1.5 stars, so I bumped it up to 2. I was overall pretty disappointed with this cruise. I just felt it was really lacking, and quite honestly, I felt like I was on Carnival a good majority of the time. And it seems as though that was the crowd that RCCL may have been shooting for. Embarkation/Debarkation: One of not many positives, but easily the best experience ...

Poor Quality food and rip-off activities

Food: Just an example, I love croissants and I tried all days for 12 days in hope it will get better but couldn't take more than 2 bites. The only ship where it was so bad and I have taken 15+ cruises. Main dining room food is almost tasteless, luckily buffet had more and better choices. Activities: Northstar, SkyDive and surfing although presented as free but very limited free spots and ...

The cruise that was the beginning of the end of life as we knew it.

First off, I did not sail in 2022, but cruise critic will not let me select an earlier date. I sailed on March 1st, 2020. Now the title makes more sense? As we all know, at this point in history, covid-19 was in the news, but at this point, not wide spread in the United States, thanks to our wonderful politicians. The trip was very close to being postponed or cancelled all together, but ...

VERY OVERRATED SHIP

The ship common areas are too small for amount of passengers lineups for every thing even if you have reservations ,bars small and noisy can not here performers because of back ground noise seats in theater very low hard on back also Royal Caribbean caters to some of their clients with holding seats for shows and closing off venues for their use only, leaving the mass of great unwashed to fend for ...

Bed bugs, technical difficulties, and a general decline

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Our first cruise on the Anthem was March 2018. In a little over a year, there has been a general decline. Coordination was poor in several areas. We had Anytime Dining. When asking for a table for 4, you would have thought I asked for nuclear codes. Some nights, it took 4 or 5 staff members and several radio discussions to get a table assignment. One night, they sat us at a table in the ...

7 nights 80+ temps - $200 'compensation' for ruined cruise

We choose RCI Anthem of the Seas for several reasons 1) we could drive to the port, it was 2.5 hours away. 2) the itinerary that went to San Juan, St Kitts, and Barbados where we have never been to 3) it was with Royal Caribbean - we thought a quality cruise line. Being the 1st time on such a large ship, we were awed by the size, and cleanliness of the crew. We were worried we would ...

Bigger is Not Always Better

We've cruised 20+ times, maybe 8 times with RCL. We chose this big ship because of the Caribbean ports on the itinerary, because we found a 'deal' on the price and because we wanted to check out this giant marvel of a ship with every sort of bell and whistle: bumper cars, rock climbing wall, iFly [skydiving tube], NorthStar [elevated look out] etc. The ship is beautiful. The ports, particularly ...

Big Doesn't Always Mean Better

I have been on many other cruises, and this was my 3rd on Royal Caribbean. I got married on a RC cruise ship (Adventure) in 2004. I was disappointed. While I had a great time vacationing with my family, and the cruise itinerary was great, I was very disappointed in many aspects of the cruise. 1. The food was underwhelming. The Windjammer is way too small to accomodate 4900 passengers. ...

Atrocious Overall Customer Service!

The staff seemed miserable and acted like they were doing me a favor when they provided any service to my family... other than our 2 regular nightly waiters and about 2 bartenders from the pub, service across the ship was awful. In addition, everything was a la carte when it came to the extras. There was a charge for every restaurant but the main dining hall, and prices were up to $50 or more per ...
