Entertainment was Hit or Miss - every day too much trivia. Some night performers GREAT some very MEH - Main stage shows, the actors and ship performers are GREAT but most of their shows are Poorly Written, except We Will Rock You, the rest (The Gift and Spectra are very boring or poor!) 12 Day Cruise, 7 Sea Days! The cruise needs way better entertainment and Cruise Director should pick better ...

We went on a tour with RC at night. It was in Puero Rico and supposed to be 2 hours long. Because of the devastation of the hurricanes it lasted an hour and we really didn’t go away from the ship. It turned out to be an hour long...Not 2! Next day we went on a tour with RC of St. Maarten. It was supposed to be 4X4 and turned out that we sat in traffic for over an hour because of the ...

The Good, the Bad and the Disappointing

I chose this cruise for it's convenience ( I could drive to the port) the length of the cruise and the itinerary. We enjoyed the cruise for the most part. The entertainment was a disappointment though. The shows they made a big deal about were not good. I really didn't come across anyone who said they were as good as the hype they gave them. The only show I heard people praising was the ...

pleasant cruise but ROYAL CARIBBEAN was better before impossible to get the cruise compass in french, the same for the menu less choices at restaurant, and always the same at market place now we have to pay to have a full breakfast in cabin I don't know if the reason is the departure from NEW JERSEY but there was bad behaviour for example, some people went to pool and jacuzzi with ...

A Little Disappointed

We had been on the sister ship "Quantum of the Seas" when it first was launched. We thought it would be fun to try Anthem as well. As was the case on Quantum, Anthem has some glaring problems also. The ship itself, as others mention, is beautiful. The layout is good but the Esplanade gets extremely crowded on sea days, especially when Royal puts out all the tables with the so-called deals of ...

Getting to the port in Bayonne, NJ was a test of patience on January 28, 2018. There is a two lane road they have set up to get you to the ship and the road is narrow and really backed up by about 11:00 am. We took a Lyft from the airport hotel and it took about 20 minutes to get from the hotel to the gate at the port, then it took almost 40 minutes to get from the gate to the ship - about 1 ...

We go out of N.J. every January, since Explorer was there. This was our third Anthem cruise. If you discount the dinners in the main dining room and The Gift we would have given a better rating. Food came cold, poor selection, over salted and smothered in gravy, even though we constantly asked for gravy on the side. Dessert selection was very limited. Windjammer was much better...we ended up going ...

We sailed on the Anthem when it made its initial crossing from Southampton to NJ in 2015. We chose this cruise for the number of sea days (5) and for the ease in getting to the port from North Carolina (direct flight to Newark on United). Although portions of the cruise were great, we were disappointed in others. Most enjoyed were the various daytime activities (even though they need to revise ...

I can't stand the lines at the restaurants. It seems that "My Time" Dining is really "Their Time" Dining. There appeared to be a level of confusion to be seated...with people without "reservations" being seated before "My Time" people. They should use NCL's example for this. Rooms and common areas kept up very well. Our steward was attentive and always asking how everything was. In my opinion, the ...

Royal Caribbean on their budget... Real Changes

We chose this specific cruise with other family members to get within 1 night stay of Diamond level which can have great rewards. We were on the Quantum and it was a much better experience 2 years ago. Royal Caribean has cheaped out on everything from cabins, to basic food forcing people to buy upscale dinners for a lot of extra dollars that are on the level we should have for the price of the ...
