Missed a port, but still a good cruise
"I chose the cruise because I'd never sailed to Charleston, SC and Newport, RI before, and when I booked it, there was still enough doubt about COVID that I wanted a cruise that stayed primarily within US ports. We did two excursions from the ship, a nighttime cruise on a glass bottom boat into the Bermuda Triangle in Bermuda, and a bus tour of the historic district in Charleston...."Read More

Celebrity should polish the silverware

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Celebrity Summit

The title of this review will be explained later, and it has nothing to do with hygiene. For identification purposes my wife and I have been cruising fairly regularly for the past 20 years. We are “older,” fairly healthy, we prefer taking the stairs to riding the elevator. Celebrity has been our favorite cruise line since the start, but we have also cruised on Princess, RCL, Holland America and ...

Old Worn out ship

Chose the cruise to experience Celebrity and due to close proximity to the port. The ship is old and in poor condition. There were sewage smells on the lower decks. The food in the dining room was hit or miss. On the last night we had chicken saltimbocca. It was the worst meal that I've ever had on a cruise. The buffet food was generally good, however the selections were lacking. There were ...

Celebrity is becoming the new Carnival?

My recent cruise caused me to wonder about the direction Celebrity is headed. The Summit is a well maintained vessel with staff that is very friendly. The quality of the food was good. There were, however, several areas of major concern. One, the dress code has become a total joke. Celebrity promotes itself as a "luxury" line but allows its passengers to dress inappropriately in various ...

We took this cruise because its itinerary was different. Martha's Vineyard, Bermuda and Charleston. Unfortunately we had two rough days at sea. When we left Martha's Vineyard and when we left Charleston we had very rough seas and it was difficult to keep your balance while walking on the ship. Also the entertainment left something to be desired. We don't like magicians and hypnotist. We had ...

We picked this cruise for its itinerary and didn’t know anything about the Summit. We loved the itinerary and felt that it had the perfect mix of days in port and days at sea. Embarkation was quick and efficient and bags arrived in our staterooms quickly. Our room attendant, Charlie, was excellent. The ship was lovely. It had recently been updated and although still not the most modern ...

I believe this was our 5th Celebrity cruise. We chose Celebrity because it always seemed to be a quality cruise line, head and shoulders above similar cruise lines. Food was always exciting, top quality and varied. Ship condition and cabin accommodations were always very good. Ship staff was always attentive and typically went beyond any request. This time our experiences were quite ...

I am afraid that we can no longer celebrate Celebrity!

My wife and I have been loyal Celebrity cruisers for many years now, going on 6-7-8 (?) different cruises. We always felt that Celebrity knew, understood, and tended to their older-demographic customer base---till now. We were very much looking forward to this, our first post-pandemic cruise, but as it turned out, not as much as we looked forward to the cruise ending! Let me ‘bullet-point’ the ...

Note: we have been on this ship 2 other times with much better food experiences. PROS: * excellent staff * fantastic cabin steward * nice sized room for an updated interior *very comfortable bed with nice sized flat screen tv * small ship * nightly entertainment in the theater was decent. CONS: * horrible food that made most passengers sick ( my husband got food ...

Summit, The great, the good and the not so good.

I chose the Celebrity Summit out of Bayonne because of the itinerary(Rhode Island, Martha's Vineyard, Charleston, and 2 days in Bermuda). I live in New York and I love sailing out of Bayonne. This was my second sailing with a celebrity(the first was on Beyond), I knew this was an older ship so my expectations were limited. I couldn't book my usual balcony so I was a little concerned about being in ...
