EMBARKATION: I stayed at a Hilton the night before the cruise and took the hotel shuttle to the cruise port in Bayonne. We arrived at the port around 10:45 to sit in a 45 minute line, 3 lanes wide. When the bus finally find a place to park, we had to sit another 30 minutes until enough port staff was available to unload the baggage. Once all the luggage was unloaded onto carts, we were ...

We chose this cruise because it was going to ports that we have enjoyed in the past and the 9 days was perfect for us. We had been on many Holland America and Celebrity Cruises in the past and thought we'd give RC a try. For us, the ship was too large and we felt that everything you wanted to do had to be programmed before you boarded the ship. For us, vacation means spur of the moment and ...

Travelled from Scotland, UK to Newark the day before, after the usual nearly 3 hours in Immigration (4 staff at 14.00), we caught the free hotel shuttle to The Country Inn and Suites in Elizabeth. We dropped off our stuff and walked across the road to the Jersey Mills Mall, where we grabbed a bite to eat and looked around. Then an early night, as the time difference was taking effect! The hotel ...

Great staff and great room - dining room issues though

Embarkation was smooth and easy in Bayonne. Once our lyft driver dropped us off, we walked right up to an Ipad wielding staff person who retook our pictures (even though the ones we submitted were according to instructions) and then we waited behind 4-5 others in a short security line and within 10 min of walking in the door, we were on our way onto the ship at 11am! One note I noticed -- there ...

Summit is an older ship , but staff are wonderful and keep ship very clean. Food was good overall. Really enjoyed the food in the Café, especially the grill in back and stir fry. Entertainment was very good , only act we didn't care about was couple who did juggling and comedy. Always enjoy the trivia and other activities on board. Loved the free tour of the galley. Played pickleball on ...

Fantastic Service and Entertainment.... Sewer gas smell not so good.

The service on board the Summit was excellent and the entertainment great. I love the fact that they have a live band backing up the entertainers. Food was pretty good, but wait staff was excellent. My only complaint is about the smell near our cabin. The area around our cabin had the distinct smell of sewer gas, we could smell it in the passageway on deck 6 starboard midship as well as in ...

Have sailed with Celebrity several types and never been disappointed. Dining experience is fantastic, quality of food first class. Staff and level of service excellent. Ship is a little dated, but I believe it is going in for a refit next year, but that wouldn't stop me from using this ship again. Sunday 9th September sailed from Cape Liberty, was raining so not great views of ...

SOMEWHAT DISAPPOINTED

This was our 11th Celebrity cruise. Comments reflect comparisons to other trips we have had. It seems things are being cut back. Entertainment was the worst I have seen on Celebrity. It appears standards are decreasing. Only one act had a double standing ovation. The production shows were lacking staging.Dancers were outstnding. Too much country and western music throughout the two weeks ...

This was a 14 day cruise out of Bayonne, NJ. We paid about $2300 pp for a window cabin (#2002). (We scored pre-paid gratuities and a $350 onboard credit!) The up-charge for veranda cabins can vary from practically nil to nearly double the cost of a window cabin. This cruise trended toward the upper end so I opted for a the window. I figured it would be too cold to sit out anyway – I was ...

We do not usually rake cruises for several reasons. But, this one was very good. We were in the Aqua Class. I would definitely recommend this. You have a private restaurant-Blu. We could eat at any time during the breakfast hours and dinner hours. There were no assigned times, which was great, and no waiting line. We got to know the staff and they were super to us. We sat by ourselves for ...
